2018 F150 Factory Trailer brake controller question

The wire they are going to charge you 67 bucks for is nothing more than a 12ga wire with an inline fuse and a ring terminal on one end. Its about 8 bucks worth of material at autozone.

Adding hitch and TBC
I have a 2018 F150 3.5L Ecoboost, no tow package (bumper ball and 4 pin connector). I have checked my fuse block and it is missing the #24. What are my options for adding towing package, ie Class IV hitch, TBC and wireing as needed? Is it possible for me to change out the fuse block, install my hitch and controller without having to deal with the dealer? I assume there could be warranty issues with replacing hte fuse block.

2018 TBC module, which p/n best?
Hate to resurrect this thread but after reading all of it I still can't get answer I want, so you experts out there can set me straight...…….
I have a 2018 XLT Scab, order date from sticker 2/20/2018, KC plant, with 53a trailer tow package. It does NOT currently have a TBC. I looked at my BJB, I'm one of the lucky ones, I do have the 30a fuse/terminals in #24 in the BJB. So "apparently" have the so-called High Level BJB.
So I'm getting ready to order a TBC module and have my friendly Ford dealer install it and IDS it (I'm not a Forscanner). But seems I have 2 choices for TBC module to buy:
1) JL3Z-2C006-AA , this seems to be the OEM module you'd find if your truck can from the factory with a TBC. On various Ford parts sites, when you pull this up, says it's compatible with 2018 and 2019 F150's.
2) JL3Z-19H332-AA , this is the one found on Ford Accessories site. When you pull it up on the accessories site, says it's compatible with 2015 through 2019 F150's. But if you pull this p/n up on Ford Parts sites, says it's compatible with 2015-2017 F150's and not 2018. But then again, from PSM-2018-110N, apparently this 2015-2017 JL3Z-19H332-AA can work with 2018's if the truck has the High Level BJB and has the 53a Trailer tow package.
So seems I have 3 options:
1. Use p/n JL3Z-2C006-AA, it's best because (fill in the blank) plus it's cheaper than JL3Z-19H332-AA.
2. Use p/n JL3Z-19H332-AA, it's best because (fill in the blank) even if it's a few bucks more expensive.
3. Doesn't matter - flip a coin, choose either one, they'll both work fine
Experts, what say you?

Thank you everyone
Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for this post it’s been very helpful. I’m typing this sitting in the waiting room of Cam Clark Ford in Airdrie Canada, and will let you know how it goes. From what I can see, Ford dropped the ball and I absolutely refuse to pay a dime for any wiring or new parts. I was told that I just needed to purchase the controller and have it programmed. I purchased the controller and installed it my self (one beer job). Of course I came across this thread shortly after I attempted to install the fuse. I’ll let you all knows how it goes.

Just to follow up. My sales person spoke to a manager and they’re going to cover the cost. It goes in Monday. I’ll update when it’s done and share the info on the kit they used. I’m very happy that Cam Clark Ford of Airdrie is taking care of this for me.

I've read the first and last several pages of the thread. What I am gathering is that if I have an 18 F150 that does not have the TBC and does not have the #24 fuse, I cannot even use an aftermarket TBC without running a separate power source. Is that correct?
I have an aftermarket TBC from a previous truck, but I'm tempted to just have the factory one installed by the dealer. They quoted me $390, which is more than it would cost to use the one I have, but I like the idea of the cleaner look. I can sell what I have on eBay to recover some of the cost.
