Hi there to smokeywren.
On 09-22 (of this thread), you posted the following:
"the regular towing pkg (53A) or the max tow pkg (53C)"
"53A and 53C adds an auxiliary oil-to-air (OTA) heat exchanger"

When shopping, where do I look to find if a particular truck has 53A or 53C ?
Thanks

My apologies to smokeywren and all others reading this thread.
I did not look at page three before I posted my question.
Thanks

When looking at the window sticker, you won't see anything listed as "53A" or "53C". It will be listed under options as "Trailer tow package" or "Max trailer tow package"

Here are 2 window stickers:
Trailer Tow window sticker
Max trailer tow window sticker

Well, I screwed that sentence up. It should read "If it is a 2011-2016 Lariat or above, then 53A is standard and won't show up on the window sticker.

Ford changed it for 2017 and 53A is no longer standard on Lariat and above. For 2017, 53B (receiver and wiring harness only, but not a tow pkg that includes auxiliary tranny cooler) is standard on Lariat and above and optional on XL and XLT. 53C has the same weight limits as the ball mount in the rear step bumper, 500 pounds max tongue weight or 5,000 pounds max trailer weight, whichever occurs first.

Checking your other options in the 2017 Order Guide, I don't see a trailer tow pkg as included in any of them.

53B = receiver hitch and wiring harness only.
53A = trailer tow pkg (includes 53B)
53C = max trailer tow pkg (includes 53A)

You said you have the receiver hitch, and per the Order Guide it's not standard on a 2017 XL STX. So one of those three options should be on the window sticker. If not, you have an error on your window sticker and you need for the dealership to print out a build sheet for your VIN.

Crawl under the back of the truck and look up to the frame of the receiver. There should be a sticker with weight limits. If yours says
500/5000 WC, 1,130/11,300 WD, then that's the receiver on a 2017 F-150 with max tow pkg.
Under options "Max Trailer Tow Package" $1,295.00 option but no numbers on the window sticker like you mentioned.I did take a picture under the truck of the hitch.

Max Gross MAX TONGUE WT

Weight= 5,489 kg 549 kg

Right, the order codes do not show up on the window sticker. But since "Max Trailer Tow Package" is on the sticker, then you know you have max tow.
