Default 2016 F150 V8 towing capaticy

I know according to numbers I should be fine. I have a 2016 with V8, Lariat, FX4, and tow package. Oh short bed with crew cab. Looking to look pull uhaul car trailer (aluminim) with a 3600 car on board. I know I should search the forums but I was in rush and didn't have time 😏

Thanks

A lot of information needed to understand your towing capacity... How far you towing?

I doubt their heir would be an issue but hard to say with the info.

Tow package? Lift kit? Large tires? Payload?

5k open trailer should be fine. Please list the information if you want a 100% answer.

Or what Is your axle ratio?? Your axle code is on the white tag on the driver side door on the bottom. You can take that code and you can get a chart what you have on here or by googling it.

Did you run that setup through the UHaul website and see if the combo is approved? They didn't like me towing an Xterra (which is around 3500 pounds) on the car hauler, and it's probably outside of Ford specs because you'll be over 5k gross trailer weight without a WDH.

With that said, I had no trouble doing so, but I was only going about sixty miles on relatively easy to drive two lane road.

I think you'll be fine. I doubt that aluminum trailer exceeds 1400 lbs.

According to my research on the Internet, they have at least a couple of different models with very similar dimensions in the fleet, and the heavier one is over 2k pounds, with no way to be sure which one you'll get until you show up. The info I've read may be wrong, as uhaul doesn't seem interested in providing detailed specs online, but it would explain why they'd reject an F-150 as being outside of specs at 5500 pounds or so weight carrying.

Ok, well that's more than I expected. My last boat was a fairly heavy 24 footer on an all steel trailer that was 1550 so I was spitballing off that. I told you not to listen to me...
