2015 F150 5.0 screw trailer question

has left the building
I didn't pay attention to the spreadsheet the first time that you actually had the truck weighed.
I thought you were using all catalog numbers.
Thanks for the updtae. Yes, you've added on a lot of weight.
My truck is the 7050 model with 1500 payload. That should mean the truck weighs in around 5500. My payload is quite low compared to many other non-Lariat models. I could see how if I decided I wanted a tow vehicle after adding 1200lbs of accessories, I'd need to reconsider, and buy a tent.

OP, when you move to a 250/2500..dont buy a diesel or you'll probably end up in the same boat as your in now with limited payload...250-gas..350 diesel

You can still pull 10900lbs it just has to be on a 4 wheel hay wagon with no discernable tongue weight.
Hell as long as there is no tongue weight you could put a trailer on someone else truck and tow both.
Sorry to soon for humor.

I have spent hours on this forum, reading Ford’s towing guide for the year of my F150, and reading questions like this on other forums to understand the tow capabilities of my truck.
It looks like you may have answered your question, but I found this video from the RV Safety Foundation very helpful.

The reason they call out tow capacity is because it's easy to understand and you can actually tow that much. The whole hay-wagon thing just conflates the issue as few actually use hay-wagons and presume the trucks can't actually tow their rated weight if you're not a farmer.
