Remember, the 18+ trucks have the thinner OPG which is likely more prone to breakage. It'll survive, just don't pull a Dorian and abuse it by smacking the limiter at 8000rpm. Does your tune incorporate a soft rev limiter?

I don't think the opgs fail due to hp.

Agreed the 18+ trucks are thinner and I wasn't as worried til Dorian broke his.

I think is has way more to do with harmonics and rpm changes that.

All of the tunes have a soft limiter (put in by ford)

Right now, for me rpm is being limited by me because the lift pump cant keep up past 7500rpm (until 3rd and 4th gear)

So I'm starting low on 1st gear and shooting for 7300rpm shift and maybe bump 3rd and 4th up ----- Some of this is speculation because I need to see what gear and mph I'm at @ 1320'

I may order a mustang pump and some boundary gears + cs, but its a very pricey install if I don't do it myself.

And 90% of the shops out there are butchers....

I've already bought a Mustang pump myself. The timing cover appears to be a different part number then the Mustang.

What I don't know is the F150 timing cover is compatible with the Mustang oil pump. I think Dorian did make the swap so I think it probably will work. He would be the man in the know.

I agree with you on trusting a shop to make the swap.

i don’t think he modified anything to put the mustang pump in.

edit: Dorian says no modification needed

The mustang pump is a direct bolt on. The only reason for the different part number on the Mustang front cover, is some of the mounting points for the accessory drive is different.
