So, thatBakFlip revolver...

I thought it went on OK, and I like some small improvements from the BakFlip F1 that I bought in 2011, but I'm still disappointed in the weatherstripping adhesive. Both tailgate corners had separated at the rails, and the entire cab-end weatherstrip was off. I had to re-glue the whole thing back on (contact cement this time, but weatherstripping adhesive if I have to do it over).

I also had to add an extra layer of the 1/4" weatherstripping to the cork shims on the rails so that the rails would sit flat.

It survived the first rainstorm yesterday, so I'm happy about that.

You have any issues?

Cheers,
-Pat

Here are the light patters. The second one is turn/stop. They are much brighter the camera's auto iris tones down the brightness in the picture.

Here is closeup of the backup lights....They are SUPER BRIGHT....The backup camera at night now is amazing!

Thanks Mike. Those tails look really good. Interesting how they have them advertised and that they can't be found on a company website.

Pat,

Yes I had that issue too with the tailgate weather strip. The tailgate more or less rips it off when you close it. That part could be better. The end of the aluminum extrusion at the bed end could look a little more finished. Maybe if it was dipped in that rubbery stuff put pliers handles in.

A first I kind of freaked out because the instructions they ship with the cover are for the 2X, I looked at the box label to make sure it was a 4X, and it was.

Mine came with a thick and a thin weatherstrip for the bulkhead (Cab End) The instructions said if you have a bed liner drop or spray in use the thin one. It looked much too thin so I put the thick one on and it seems to seal fine.

It rained hard today and the only place I see water coming in is near the tailgate, and that's only a few drops. I didn't expect it to seal perfectly. The straps seem a little cheap, pretty typical for those types of things. Does the 5-1/2' come with 4 clamps? My 6-1/2' did, You put 2 next to each other in the front, the one with the strap right behind the first one. Which seem like kind of a waste.

Thanks...They aren't perfect by a long shot, but a lot less money then 2018 BLIS. The real proof will be when we see if they leak at all. We had a heavy rain today so I'll check them out in the morning and look for moisture. Interestingly one of the OEs had some water inside when I put in the box the new LEDs came in. I think Ford might have cheeped out on the non-LED 2018 taillights.

I'm checking it out now....A quick browse doesn't look like they have 2018 yet.....Might be worth a call to see if they need a beta tester.

Haha...Crank up that Visa card...I can always justify the purchase when think about all the cash back. Amazon pays 5% cash back....That does add up quickly as long as you don't overpay for things. Which can happen with Amazon if you're not careful. The real deals were the post Christmas Amazon deals. I got my Husky floor mats for less the $60 open box. The wheel liners were a good deal too in a open box.

Since they don't have '18 stock yet you can sign up for that 10% off... Luckily this purchase didn't require the CC, I had some $$ stashed in my Paypal balance that I used to acquire these

Good idea...This has me thinking maybe I should do a wrap then when the '18 covers come out get those. I've also been reading a lot of posts by mbullock as Jon suggested, he seems very confident chrome can be painted and still be durable, it's all in the prep...Which is true with any painting. I don't know I figure out something by the weekend.

I'm past the point now of tearing into the truck thinking I'm going to break something. The night got it and changed the cluster was big hump because it was such a major improvement.

Now looking at some of the old pictures of two weeks ago that I took of the work truck interior and the the way it looks now helps a lot too.

I plan to wrap mine first & if I don't like the outcome I'll get back in touch with mbullock to see if he will paint them for me.

Yeah I've made some major changes to my ride, but you have to be setting some kind of record of going from stock to WOW!
