Yeah...It was busy...But a lot of fun...The mod parts pile is starting to dwindle a bit. I still have everything though I took off...So not by much.

Thanks...The color combination is a little different, but goes okay with the stock interior trim.

Mike
I just so happen to like that color combo

True...That's the beauty of bolt on parts. You can change them and if you get tried of it change back. Folks that don't know will think you have a different truck.

Coming together very nicely Mike, I like.
Those tails were supposed to be PnP, I didn't use resistors on mine. I'm still just kicking around tinting them slightly darker, like a 1/6 paint and clearcoat, just enough to hide the outline a bit more. I see you got the F150 off the gate, and once those stickers are off, it'll clean up even more.
Keep up the good work man!!!

I wasn't ready to take the jump and make the investment in 2018 BLIS taillights so I settled with some off EBays. These are the same ones johnday has...I didn't install the load resistors, did the Forscan change to avoid fast blinking. Incandescence taillights for the 2018 trucks are different than 15-17 so I order some spare 2018 taillight pigtail harness and modified them. I follow up with a post showing the modified harness. Those damn stickers and chrome bumpers have got to go...Stay tuned!

Also installed a BakFlip Revolver X4.

Mike
Can you share the link to those tail lights? Also, have any pics at night to show the light pattern?

Here was the rear render I did with green flairs...I have to update it with black ones.

Those color matched flares look sweet! The black will look good with your other color accents though. I personally have never cared for the painted bumpers but not saying they don’t look good on some trucks.

My truck is almost past being picture worthy. Has been my daily driver, do it all vehicle and has been a great truck but at 261,000 it is showing some wear. I live in Maryland and most of our main roads have been under some serious construction and the paint on the front end looks like it has been shot with a shotgun. Add the fact that they heavily salt and treat the roads and at 10 years old I am seeing some rust on the body panels. I might not show it but I drive the hell out of it.

Thanks John! The tails are plug and play for a 2015-17 but not on a 18, or at least mine. I give you the long story of what I found out after I tried to install them on a 2018. I had ordered them back in December right after ordering the truck. The load resistor is built on the back, shown in the first picture, its heavy and adds a lot of stress to the bosses that hold the cover on. In fact mine were starting to crack and the back that cover the electrons came lose prior to installing them. It was too late to try to get a refunds so Plan B came into action. I drilled out the bosses that hold the back cover on and glued some studs in with some structural epoxy. Then attached the cover with some nuts sealing with white RTV and cut off the remaining studs flush with the nuts.

So all is good Right? ...Wrong!! The 2018 tails have 2 bulbs wired for turn and tails and the socket had different pattern so the 2018 sockets wouldn't fit into the the Ebay tails. I had also ordered backup
LED backup lights LED backup lights
for a 2017 because nobody had listings yet for 2018s, I think the same ones you have . Guess what? Different socket too, the new LED bulb wouldn't fit either, the base was different. So I went shopping for new
3156 sockets 3156 sockets
and
3157 sockets 3157 sockets
to fit the Ebay tails. Just to play it safe I ordered 2 new 2018 pigtails ($11 each) so if this whole plan went bad I could go back to original and all would be good. Wired everything up without the load resistor and made the Forscan change to eliminate fast blink and all is good.

DyLvn, I bought them back in December so I don't know 100% these are the same ones anymore. I think I also paid about $25 less...If you read my post above you may not want to bother.

Here are the light patters. The second one is turn/stop. They are much brighter the camera's auto iris tones down the brightness in the picture.

Here is closeup of the backup lights....They are SUPER BRIGHT....The backup camera at night now is amazing!

Yeah..The color matched ones do look nice. the black might be too much. I'll tape on the black flairs first and see how they look before jumping in. 261K...Wow...I hope I get that out of this one. I hear you about the salt. I'm a Chevy guy at heart and main reason for buying a Ford was the aluminium body. I also like the Coyote engine, it's hard to beat and way more modern then the current generation SBC offered.

You sure put some work into those tails, who'd a thunk they wouldn't be a direct replacement. Looks good, it better!

Thanks...IMO those reverse lights were worth all the work.

The only thing I thought was odd (while I was fishing around for the bed light and switch from underneath) was that there was no gasket for the tail light and there is a body gap. I could see daylight from underneath.
