Default My Fix It Project

Hey, gents.

I'm a newer member of the forum. I've been trolling for months, reading and learning, but I'm finally coming out and saying hello.

A couple of months ago, I decided it was time for me to finally show my true Texan and purchase a truck. I wanted a lifted F150, and when I came across this truck, I couldn't walk away. The seller wanted $18,500 for the truck, but I haggled him down to $15,500 because of the work it needed. I didn't care about the body work because that's the stuff I love to do, but it did need some TLC.

Here are a couple of pictures the day I brought it home.

Then, I started my project.

Here is the list for those of you who are wondering:

The truck had 120k miles on it. It's a 2007 FX4 with the black cloth interior. (Interior pics to come)
The truck had the following modifications already done to it:

6" Pro Comp Suspension Lift
2" Leveling kit
18" Diamo Rims (spray painted black)
37" Nitto Terra Grapplers
Full Flowmaster Exhaust
S&B Cold Air Intake
Aftermarket, ugly headlights (that were hard as **** to aim)
Saleen blacked out grill
Blacked out accents
Blacked out tail lights
LED 3rd Brake Light
Old head unit
Painted black accents all around the truck.

More to come!

Right off the bat, I knew I needed to work on the suspension, tires, etc.

So here is what I did! I took the truck in for a full inspection, had 35" Terra Grapplers put on since the 37's were rubbing and the truck needed new tires BAD! I had the alignment done, and I had a full service done to the truck.

I needed new rear shocks since the bearings in my old ones were shot, so I ordered myself some 2.0 IFP Performance Fox shocks to throw under the rear.

Once that was done, I started messing around with the rims. The previous owner spray painted the rims black when they were originally chrome. These rims were NOT taken care of, and they had nasty stuff caked all around them...

Here are the rims before:

This is one rim in mid-fix:

After three weeks of TLC, scrubbing, polishing, more scrubbing, take the truck to the shop to pull the tires off and do EVERYTHING by hand, I came out with this:

Thank you, sir!

Okay. Now that the rims were fixed, I decided to do some light fixing. So I ordered new fog light housings since mine were beyond fogged, etc.

Here, check it out:

Along with the fog light housings, I bought new fog light bulbs, OEM style blacked out headlights, and a 4300k HID kit.

It was like Christmas came early!

So, here are my before and afters:

I have since ripped off that nasty looking FX4 decal, touched up a little bit of paint splatter from the overspray when he was doing the black accents, and dolled it up a bit.

With a nice wash, rim wax, etc., she looks beautiful.

I have a full JL Audio system going on soon, as well as a Kenwood deck.
I also have some smoked LED tail lights and an AAL kit going on as well.
Stay tuned!

Here she sits right now:

I was having some problems with my HIDs this weekend but eventually found the source. Of course, it was a ground problem. I found a random ground wire very loose on the side of my engine bay.

I have a custom ported single 10" box, JL Audio 10" sub, Kenwood single head unit, and two JL Audio door speakers going on either this weekend or next depending on my work schedule. Believe it or not, the system was all free except the door speakers. :P
Hopefully I'll have pics coming sometime next week!
