Default My 2017 Silver 157" STX Build

In May I bought my first truck, a 2017 STX 2.7 2wd 157" wheelbase.

Before this I had a 2001 ford explorer that I traded in.

So heres some photos of my stock truck.

The first thing I did was get the bed sprayed.

Next, I installed a 2" leveling kit and 275/60/20 Falken Wild Peak AT3s. Now I have about a 3/4" rake, which is perfect.

And that's how it sits now.

Overall list of things I've also done so far:
- 2" leveling kit
- 275/60/20 Falken Wildpeaks
- Line-X
- Stubby antenna (I don't have a picture of this yet)
- Put the box links plates
- Tint the front windows to match the rear
- Mickey Thompsons 20x9 +18 offset
- Black Raptor Grill
- Factory Keypad

Things I would like to do:
- Katzkin leather seats
- Anzo Switchbacks
- Black out all the emblems
- More things that I can't think of right now

I will keep updating this post as I add more and think about more things I want to do. Right now the truck just needs a good wash.

If you all have any thoughts or suggestions, feel free to pass them along.

February Update

Little bit of an update, since my last post I had the windows tinted and got aftermarket wheels.

Wheels are Mickey Thompson MM366. They are 20x9 +18 mm offset.

I also bought a cheap bed cover from Amazon that will last until I get a nicer one.

I like it! Would you consider powder coating the wheels you have black? I think they look really nice, and would cost quite a bit less than buying new wheels all together.

To tell you the truth I have thought about it but I would have to take the tires off in order to have them powder coated and I don't have another car or set I could use while I waited. Plus with the money I would get back from selling the stock wheels it would probably be about the same cost, but that's down the line as tint is next and then I'm going to take a break on the big purchases. When the time comes, I am going to get quotes for the powder coating because I do like the STX wheels.

BTW, a little off topic but I saw your signature, are you a cop?

I gotcha. Maybe you could find a set of the STX wheels and have those powder coated, then put them on and sell your old ones? Plenty of options, don't rush them. Enjoy your new truck!

And no I'm not a cop, just a supporter. Although I have always wanted to be a police officer. If the opportunity comes up, I might do it. Things are just a bit crazy right now, and these past few years have not been kind to officers.

Good thought. I'll keep it in mind for down the future, and thanks for the support it's even tough being a supporter these days.

I have an STX in Metallic. I really like the silver on yours!

Other than changing out the LEDs in the license plate lights, I am looking to get the box link tie downs so when we go camping, I have something solid to tie down the straps ...

Great looking build! Between the tint, black wheels, and ANZO Switchbacks in black housing this thing will look perfect! Can't wait to see as you progress!

a-hah! You also got your STX from Brandon Ford. They sold those things out within 2 weeks of getting 'em on the lot (especially the ones with the features/specs like I bought)

Looks good!!

Today I washed the truck and took off the front valence. I think it really gives the truck a more aggressive look. I think I am about to pull the trigger on some plastidip to do my wheels and emblems. Also, you can see my stubby antenna in the photo.

I also want to get some wheel spacers just to give it a little more stance. Maybe 1" or 1.5".
