Thanks Dave! I’m waiting for it to get dark out so I can test my under hood lights. I don’t understand why ALL cars and trucks don’t come with some kind of light in the engine compartment. They used to, most cars anyway!

Not bad for a cheap LED strip. Casts pretty good light over the entire engine compartment. It will light automatically when the hood opens once my tilt switch arrives.

I was looking for a tilt switch awhile back to do the same as you, never found what I wanted.
OK, I know it's dark down there, how do the lights look?

I found a good switch on Amazon ( see above post )! The light output is great. It wasn’t completely dark out when I took the pictures. In an Emergency , I’ll be able to check under hood fuses, fluids etc.

Thanks Jon! It’s kind of an obsession with me. Trucks gonna get a detail tomorrow and I may take it to the park for some pix.

Can't wait! Does your air cleaner box still light up?

Yes, amber but only when the parking lights are lit.

No detail today. Decided to do some mowing instead. Doesn’t make sense to clean the truck today and mow tomorrow kicking up a ton of dust.
