All you need is some all-purpose cleaner and an indirect source of water to rinse off. A small, round brush will get in the nooks and crannies easily and the result will look good as new. I don't even add any shine to it once it's clean.

In the past I've just used engine degreaser. indirect water, and wd-40.... wd-40 gives it the shine and all that good stuff. usually looks mint.

I'm generally not a fan of shiny plastic. I hate how slimy Armor All makes stuff look, so I use other products that clean and protect without the sheen.

to each their own! i like the wd40 thing because it also lubes up all those bolts and makes working on it easy if i have too.

That's a great point! I hadn't thought of that.

Yup. Not like there's a right or wrong answer for it. If I want a non-slick surface, Simple Green is usually my go to. Works well and it smells good! haha.

Absolutely. The detailing companies make interior and tire products with as many choices as paint for your home.

It is kind of crazy how many different products there is. One of my goals next spring is to find a better tire shine that comes in gel form and a good applicator. I'm using Meguiar's Hot Shine spray right now and it looks great, but doesn't last too long. The BFG KO2's eat up just about every applicator I've tried thus far and end up going through them quickly. I'm open to suggestions if you guys have any recommendations.

Dave, I like this stuff; https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And don't laugh, Lemon scented Pledge goes on after the cleaner dries. Let the Pledge dry too.

Does the foam leave any residue on the wheels? Never thought of using Pledge, but it kind of makes sense. And of course I got caught in a random band of lake effect snow at 6 am this morning. That didnt last long.
