So hopefully sometime next week I can drop the truck off at the shop the night before and then pick it up after I get home from work. That's the nice thing about having the 3rd car now. It makes it a lot easier to get work done on vehicles.
I hear ya on the drive just far enough to turn a couple hour job into an all day event. I like the magnetic metallic special edition, they by far are my favorite color and package from ford. Sucks the 2019s have black wheels now, that's the part I loved the most was the grey wheels.

This is the 4th vehicle in a row that I've had in Magnetic and my wife's explorer is Magnetic. I honestly think it's one of the sharpest paint colors and it is hides dirt SO well. I get compliments on how clean it is all the time and to he honest I've maybe washed it twice in 6 months.

I bought the Special Edition because of those wheels! I had contemplated ordering a non-special edition truck and buying the wheels and the grille later on, but when I priced them out it was cheaper to just get the SE. I honestly can't wait to get the 5100's and new tires on. I think it will change the entire look and "attitude" of the truck. I think I've decided on 275/65 R20's to save cost and weight. I dont get a choice, I have to show up to work no matter the weather conditions so snow will be my biggest competitor so the narrower tire should do better than a 305.

You will be happy with that size I'm sure. I have the factory chrome pvd 20s and that's the size I'll go with next. Mine are peeling so I've thought about powder coating them metallic grey. The doing the 2016 special edition magnetic metallic grille and ecological bumper shell covers painted magnetic metallic. The rims peeling are jump starting me to de chrome the truck. Sounds like you do outside construction type of work?

I dont blame you about wanting to de-chrome. I had a white truck years ago and it looked good with chrome, but never again. Powder coating them would be pretty cool and unique.

I kind of work in construction. Lol. I technically work for 3 different companies, but I am a member of the local 324 construction union as a heavy equipment operator. Company A pays my salary, I have company B credentials, currently working at company C properties, and my benefits are through the union. Some days I'm acting as a construction project manager, but I also deal with all of our trades. Everything from roofers to landscapers. It's weird. Lol. The company that pays my salary is responsible for properties that never shut down, like airports. That's why I always have to be at work no matter what the conditions.

Oh nice! Sounds kind of like my story. I work at a nuclear power plant. I'm part of IBEW 1392, but I am employed by Indiana michigan power. Union protects us inhouse employees I should say. Kind of weird being a welder and part of the electricians union. It's the same union for all the skilled trades inhouse employees.

Yeah very similar situation and I know what you mean. We have about 20 local 324 guys "in house" and I'm the only heavy equipment operator. The other guys are a mix of boiler operators, chiller operators, and HVAC techs.

Johnday put the goodyear wrangler ultraterrains on his truck and loved them. Those would look nice on your truck!

Well now John is being all cool with his new raptor wheels and switched over to the KO2s, lol. I haven't had good luck with the Wranglers (had blow outs on my '15) and there is something about the sidewall shoulder blocks being in a 'Y' shape that I'm not a fan of. Personally, I really like the appearance of the KO2's and the Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. I'm really torn between the two and I think I'll just have to decide on which one Discount Tire can get in stock faster.

Either one I'm sure you will be happy with, ko2 is such a popular tire that everyone around town is running them. Sure does make it easier to try something new to be different. I would like to try the cooper xlt at3, brokenmillwright has a set and it sounds like he loves them at all in his build thread.

The Coopers do have the best warranty at 60K miles. The only thing that discouraged me from them was that they are not a 3 peak mountain snow flake rated tire. That's the only bad thing with the KO2's now that they offer them in the original and a DT (Different Tread) version. The original is 3PMSF rated without a warranty and the DT comes with warranty, but not snow rated.
