Default 2017 screw 5.0 4x4 build - goal - storm trooper

Bought the truck new, did a few things to it, life got in the way and we moved 3 times in 4 years so getting time to work on the truck was limited.

Ended up getting covid in Feb 2020 and it screwed me up for a while, then I started feeling better and looked into a new truck 2021 or possibly ordering a 2022.

Reality of no inventory and my truck had 26k miles on it and it was paid for hit me…..so a few pics of when I picked it up, Fox 2.0 suspension, etc and then what I have done recently and what I plan to do.

All pics below were of everything I did and it had less than 700 miles on it. I had a garage full of parts and my wife was like ummmm are you building a new truck after just spending 40k plus on one? Lol 😂

Day I picked it

Window tint - Florida I went with legal, 28% front, 15% sides snd back. That is something I will be changing and going darker in the front to 15%.

Same time I had tint I had the spray in bed-liner.

also put in a bed mat, this thing is awesome and has held up nicely. I believe this is the one that I bought. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0845L5FQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_EMNCVQQPAC1CGTSDMWPT?_enco ding=UTF8&psc=1

Fox 2.0 stage 1 from Stage 3 motor sports - had a local guy do it

AEM CAI - being I was an Acura guy before that I why I went with AEM. I also put on a Borla sport cat back exhaust, can’t find pics of it, but it’s the dual side exhaust. I went with the side exit because I trailer a boat and it goes into sal****er and I really didn’t want my exhaust in the sal****er.

Bought a hard cover for the back - BAKFLIP MX4

These were the first set of after market headlights, they were Anzos and I added LED bulbs, everything was from 4x4 LEDs This was a PITA with all the resistors and wires. The quality of them back in 2017 wasn’t good, in two years they got fogged up and nasty. But at the time they looked good.

also put on the Raptor Grill

I know some don’t like it but I think it looks good .

Fast forward to about August 2021

First order of business was blacking out all my emblems. The Ford one on the back tailgate was first, rather easy, took ten mins. Below are pics of the truck about 6 weeks ago. I also removed the F150 from the rear tailgate and removed the sport badges.

I hate badges/emblems on my cars/trucks.

replaced the cabin filter with a KN filter, mine was nasty.

Also you can see the Anzos were nasty and cloudy and had seen better days.

This was the day I took a video of the truck and decided to keep her and update and being I was going to drop 6k into the truck my wife gave me the green light and it was on

I also found @mdmay62 build thread and that gave me a ton of ideas and fired up my research. Could I make 285/65/20’s work?

Jealous of the amp research bedstep2! It is on my list for both sides along with the bed step. They are way out though! Definitely going to be following this one!

Most of them are, I am getting a few things still coming in, Wheels and Tires are going on soon, over the next week to ten days there is going to be a lot of updates to this thread.

I have some things planned down the road like a push-button start conversion, possibly a train horn, I may delete my spare tire since I am going with 285/65/20 and put a spare in the back, not really sure what the solution is for that.

I have to pick @mdmay62 brain because he did the ac or air-cooled seats and I really want them, being in Orlando, Florida, I would probably use them every month out of the year. I have had the truck for 4 years and not one single time have I used the heated seats, I did via forscan put it on the controls on the screen and tested it and it worked.

Some things will have to come later as we are building a pool, doing a tiki bar, working on a tropical garden in the back lol, so it's going to be either Truck or House that will take up much of my time.

Tackled the 3rd break light and the Morimoto smoked out tail lights.

install was easy, the anzo third break light isn’t my favorite, but I like the dark smoked look.

A lot of people seem to not be able to find the connection for the Anzo light and it’s on a clip and it’s pretty far down into the hole.

The Morimotos look good, they have a little more of a boxy look to them, it took me about an hour getting use to them.

one point, If you change or do anything where you need access to the tail lights, stand right behind on the light and pull straight out.

more to come as I am working on other things this evening (full day of mods)
