Default 2014 FX4 - Red Coyote Edition

Welp, been lurking on these forums for long enough. Thought it was time to post up my truck now that I finally got off my @$$ and gave her a proper bath and got some decent pics. Not a huge "build", as it's pretty much cosmetic only changes, but I've made it my own and the goal was to make it look as though it could have been custom ordered from the factory this way. Most, if not all, changes I tried to use OEM parts from different years. My inspiration mostly came from the newer (gasp) Silverado Redline edition trucks. I love the red tow hooks and other little red touches on those trucks, but I also really like the chrome accents. I'm not a fan of the full chrome "package", but little accents are classy to me. Plus I wanted to have something different and didn't want it to be like all the other black on black on black on black trucks that are a dime a dozen on the road today.

Hope ya'll like it. Lemme know if you have any comments or questions. Otherwise, thanks for checking her out and I'll see you on the forums!

Skip all the crap below if you just want to see a few pics, otherwise here's what I've done;

Pics

The day I bought her. Flew to Texas and drove back. This was the first time I saw her in person.

How she currently sits after all my **** retentive modifications.

Sunset made for some really nice pictures.

I'm undecided on the grille. It doesn't look bad, but I'm not 100% in love with it. Might just end up wrapping the two inner bars as well. EDIT: Decided to black out the remaining bars. Updated pics at end of thread.

LOVE the way this turned out. Special thanks to KoolPonyCar and his 29 page thread on here for how to do this mod properly.

The center caps and calipers turned out really nice. It's the little things that make a difference.

The Dura Dressing tire coating I used really pops in this pic. Should last several months and well worth the effort.

Steering wheel overlay was a nice touch to bring all the red/black together. And although you can't tell in this pic, SYNC3 is a game changer!

Nicely done, really like the engine bay. Count me a no vote on the chrome grill, go all black. Great build!

Thanks! I think I agree on the grille. Won't be hard to wrap them up... which is part of the reason I wrapped it in the first place. It allows me to experiment a bit. Funny thing is, now that I did it that way, I'm noticing that the new Ford Ranger Lariat has a similar style with the two inner bars being chrome.

That engine looks CLEAN, I’ll have to find that thread on the covers. My coil covers are on their way but I’ve pretty much given up on the 5.0 engine cover.

Nice truck!

Yes sir, I did! First time wrapping anything as well. I saw on another thread here where someone wrapped their tailgate applique with the 3M gloss black metallic and it was a super close match to tuxedo black. I wanted to give it a try and experiment a bit with the chrome bars, so that's what I ended up with. I just watched a handful of "CKWraps" YouTube videos and then went to town. If you get up really close, you'll definitely notice imperfections but it passes the 5ft test and came out pretty good.

Nice truck!
Thanks for the kind words! Here, I'll save you the trouble. The engine cover thread is below. It's a long read but lots of good information on how to get it done the right way.
