Dodge has a different rear suspension... that's what hurts their towing but has its own benefits, its adjustable, and has a softer ride when adjusted properly

Yeah isn't the Dodge 1/2Ton rear suspension 4linked?

I read somewhere that the 3/4 & 1Ton Dodges were getting a 4link design as well.

Ecoboost guys are funny. When comparing it to a higher horsepower engine (like a 6.2L) the answer is "but look at the EBs lowend torque!". Now that it's being compared to an engine with more lowend torque, the answer is "but the Eco has more horsepower!". It's all pretty funny to me.

Also, everyone on this forum CONSTANTLY talks about payload and tow ratings. Who cares? Ford made their rating just like Dodge did. The manufacturer can say whatever it wants. If a Ford can tow/haul "X" amount, so can Dodge. And Chevrolet. And Toyota. And Nissan. I like Ford (I did buy one after all) but it scares me to think that so many reasonable adults could really be fooled by simple marketing. I also wonder how many people blindly buy their truck based on simple numbers like towing capacity.

This new engine will (at worst) do everything the EB (or any other half ton engine) will do and should get better mileage while doing so.

It tows less than the Ecoboost and can't come close to it in 0-60 times! I pull out on a highway every morning where heavy traffic is coming at 60-65 mph and I am glad I have the Ecoboost to get me up to highway speeds at just over 6 seconds. At over 9 second 0-60 times the Dodge would have wait for a lot longer break in the traffic to pull out and then pray nobody runs it over! I'll take the better towing, better prices at the pump and faster 0-60 times.

I don't think i've read anywhere where EB owners are ragging on the 6.2...

I definitely never have... but I would much rather an eco over a 6.2 for the TQ/HP combination. You just can't get the gains out of a NA motor from basic bolt-ons and a tune that you can from a boosted motor. I don't like the idea that my IC could blow water into my engine and cause hydro lock, so I'm thinking of selling it and buying a 6.2 (or powerstroke). But that's more for peace of mind, not because I think its dominant.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to what the dodge diesel can do with some tuning and bolt ons. May not put out insane horsepower, but i bet it'll put out some impressive torque

With equivalent torque curves, the ecoboost and the ecodiesel will produce the same horspower at a given RPM. The main difference kicks in when the diesel hits redline and the ecoboost continues to gain rpm and horsepower. Under redline rpms, I would think they would be very similar. Again, this assumes the diesel has a nice flat torque curve like the ecoboost.

All I can say is "RUN",,"RUN AWAY FAST". The word Fiat would keep me from buying this POS. My feelings is, the lame *** 240hp,,are you kidding me. EB has 365 hp. Second the torque EB 420 @2500 and Ram 420 @2000.. so what, your not gonna notice any real towing difference in the low end. Where you gonna notice the lame part is the weak 240 hp vs 365 when your on the highway. Now add in the 2 decade long recoup of funds for a $4500 higher priced engine and the added higher cost of diesel fuel and maintenance on this ECOGUZZLER!!,, Not for me. We will see how the real world MPG's are in this RAM. I am sure some will be standing in line for this. I will keep my EB. If I wanted a diesel truck, I would just go get a Super Duty and look down on the RAM and smile!!!

If Shawn from Southern Speed can tune it for another 100 hp and 125 ft lbs of torque I might be interested.
