430lb-ft at 2000 rpm and 25mpg sure looks like competition at least in the DD and towing arena.

9200 pounds towing isnt impressive. The only thing that it has is fuel mileage. I said it in a thread when they said this was happening, the eco boost is ganna hold its own and i was right.

Maybe not the beast the Ecoboost is, but a step in that direction with higher MPG, but slower track times.

Plus it says it takes 2 decades to pay for itself over the v6 which is what you'd buy for fuel mileage

Well Ford said that the Ecoboost would get 21/31 or something crazy like that, so we can't really base anything off that. As far as torque goes, that's a very impressive number, HP not so much. I imagine that it will sound like the 3 litre diesel jeep they have, which sounds terrible. But I'm sure it'll still sell well because we've learned that there's a lot of truck buyers not biased to V8's.

Knowing very little about Ram trucks, could that limitation be related to the rest of the truck or can the Hemi tow more? If I had to guess, that tow number is largely irrelevant because the payload on those trucks tends to be lower than a fully loaded F150.

Not if you need to tow too. Pretty sure I read another review yesterday that suggested the mpg ratings were pretty close to what they got real world.

Not Ford, the EPA and the numbers are more like 16/21.
