Flat areas with some gently rolling small hills, no major climbs or descents, and at most like 100' climb in elevation...small hills.

Well, put on a 5* 87 tow/perf tune and installed my BakFlip Fibermax yesterday. I'm seeing 2-3mpg improvement on my commute so far. I took a picture of my trip computer for 500 miles of mixed driving ( 50% of that was highway coming home with the truck ) and I will take another 500 mile mixed driving picture of my trip computer when I get to that point, post mods.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're saying here. Why can't they roll like when in neutral?

So are you saying that it uses LESS fuel by not freely coasting? It seems that it would use more when engaging the transmission. So, if I coasted down a hill in neutral, I'd use more fuel than allowing the engine to brake? I never realized that.

Tune was 379, Fibermax was 700 shipped. Was going to get both of them regardless. My BedRug comes in today but I doubt MPG gain from it.

Yes. Go to 65 and throw it in neutral, then do it again and just let off the gas and coast. It uses the momentum to run the engine, barely using any gas, where as in neutral its using the same gas as at idle. Yes, you would still get better MPG coasting in neutral compared to idling, you are moving but you use less the way they designed it.

Not to mention it helps on brake wear letting the transmission help you slow down.

You are either mistaken or have something seriously wrong, cause if I'm going down a hill it pegs out the mpg reading. If you are traveling at a fast speed and its a very very slight hill many times it won't budge much. But going say 60 mph and go down a rolling hill its pegged out.

Oh, it pegs, but you can feel the engine brake. So, when you get to the bottom, you have a lot less momentum and have to go to the gas much sooner. Does that make sense?
