New EcoBoost ported block!
I did a quick search and didn't see anything, so I'll post and see if anyone else has had this happen...
Monday, I pulled out of work and hit the gas to accelerate (normally) and got treated to a nice POP sound and proceeded to dump watch the oil pressure gauge drop to 0. Shut her down immediately and coasted off the road and watched her dump the remaining fresh Mobile1 5W-30 on to the road.
Get a call today from my dealership. There is a nice hole in the passenger side of the block near the turbo.
Anyone else heard/have this happen? Motor had 25970 miles and I've owned it all of them and KNOW it's gotten fresh Mobile1 every 5000 miles religiously.

I know for a fact Ford had stopped production on the Ecoboost F150 motor for re-engineering .
I just got back on the road today after 2 months down time waiting for them to be out of national back order . Don't know what they are doing differently now but I know they did something.

"5 out of over 500,000 made" The 500,000 has little to to with the less than 130,000 members of this forum. Out of those 130,000 how many own long lasting Ford trucks that were manufactured before the Ecoboost? How many 2011 and up trucks have 3.7s, 5.0s or 6.2s. How many like yourself are running F250s but a member of this forum? How many like myself came to these forums to learn about Ford trucks because we were concidering trying a Ford product. It is not unreasonable to assume that less then 50,000 forum members own Ecoboosts. So it becomes 5 out of 50,000 which is 50 out of 500,000. Then we have the owners who don't want anyone to know they have had trouble. How many of them? Case in point, a friend of mine had his engine replaced on his 2009 F150 King Ranch and hasn't been on any forums. 5 out of 500,000 is not an epidemic nor is 50 out of 500,000 (not including the silent ones) but it is 50 too many for the owners with trouble. Long story short, figures don't lie but liars can figure. As forum members we should be here primarily to support each other and a manufacturer second.

I feel your pain, my truck was in the shop for 49 days waiting on a PCM and it was all due to a "National Back Order". Their reason for the back order was due to parts manufactures going out of business and now the remaining parts manufactures are having to take up the slack and still produce their products.
