Bought a f150 with a replaced engine, need advice
So I recently purchased a 2000 Ford f150 that they said they just put a newer engine in that has only 120k miles, this was a company owned truck, well taken care of but the owner decided to sell it to get new trucks. any idea of what kind of engine I have? I wanted to order a intake kit but just want to make sure I'm ordering for correct engine, thanks

It's a 5.4 2-v. What's wrong with the intake?

CAI's are a waste of money. Use it for something else.

It came from the factory with a cold air intake.

Never say you want a CAI on this forum, you will get chased out with forks haha. Depending on the type you get, you will either pull air from the engine bay or the fender. I believe aFe makes one that is enclosed and has fender air draw. Me, i put one on, The other issue is the pipe heating up IF you get one that is aluminum. If you want to go this route, spend the money on a good one that is enclosed, As much as i like the sound it makes, im likely going to just get a dryflow AEM filter for the stock box and add a larger pipe to the fender.

Aftermarket cold air intakes
If they were really a performance enhancer, do you not suppose Ford and all the other manufacturers would be running them as OEM?

You will not see one on any of my cars including the hotrods
My Corvette has 2 big air filters in it as does my Mercedes
I guess K&N forgot about those?
