After an hour on the highway I realized I'm gonna have to change out my small mbrp Resonator for a 30" resonator/muffler. Going catless makes the turbos crazy loud, which I love, but also droning is way up. Also, at wide open throttle it's like a swarm of bees combined with a pack of blackcats going off. Now for more experimenting to make my ears happy.

You may want to wait and put some miles on first. After my down pipe swap, I had the extra rasp/buzz at approx. 3/4 throttle and up. This greatly reduced as things got a good layer of carbon inside. I was surprised how much that fresh pipe up front still changed in tone with use. I thought the rest of the system would have perhaps minimised it. The change for me could have been due to the resonator that is in my down pipe assembly carboning of course and, you might not see as big a change?

All of this being said...this is why Solo has the resonators in their down pipes. Sound goes way up when the factory stuff goes bye-bye and, you're using a fairly loud cat back. I hope it settles down for you Joewee!

Boostedfitz, thanks for giving me a glimmer of hope. Yeah, 3/4 throttle and up it's raspy and seems to crackle and pop. Good thing I spend most of my time under 3/4 throttle so my truck sounds pretty good 95% of the time. I'll try to get a full throttle vid so everyone can hear what they're in for.

I would get in touch with Rick on the code just to make sure they sent you the correct tune with the O2's off. I got the high flow cats so I didn't request/inquire.
You could cut the two mounting pins off of your stock pipe and not drop the trans mount but, I wouldn't do that as you may want to put it back to stock someday. I had to tweak on my heat shield too, no big deal.

Yeah my heat shield is "tweaked" as well. I cut a big section out to make it fit. 30" resonator is in on the way. Will post results next week.
