It doesn't but if it's -20 it's nice to be in a warm truck lol. I let mine warm up in winter to clear the windows and have a little heat. Now that it's above 0 again I don't let it idle. Block heater would do the same job.

3.7L approaches 20 running hours per tank full in metro interstate/street/stop n go over an over again. Which averages a tank every 2 weeks for many with 10 mile work commutes.

I love my 3.7. It's stuffed inside a supercab 4x4, in town I average 17.5mpg in town, and on the highway I get around 26mpg... Not too shabby I say... I did originally want a 5.0, but the cost of annual fuel mileage is what put me off from it. Sure the 5.0 has plenty more power, and get decent mileage for what it is, but the way gas prices are these days, I needed a truck to do things with around the house, and when I'm fishing in the summer, my 3.7 gets 3 weeks to a tank of gas, using it everyday to and from work and pleasure use..

I drove the 3.7 again today at the dealer. I really like this engine. I had an EB, but I prefer the engine sound of the 3.7. It actually has a very pleasant sound at full throttle and even when you start the engine, there is a nice sound.

I had ordered an XLT regular cab, but drove this particular truck today and will take this instead. It's an STX regular cab in black with the sport package, which is basically 20" wheels

I told one of my customers to try the 3.7 and he's picking his up Tuesday STX short box doesn't have the sport package but they are putting FX4 rims on instead of the Lego wheels.
If I was looking for another truck it would have this or another Eco.

Yeah, the sport package has wheels that remind me of the 20's from the Lariat. The tires are Bridgestones with a treadwear rating of 700 which is pretty good.

I noticed that the gearing is such that I can keep it under 2000 RPM, under acceleration from a stop, with a light foot which will help. I initially didn't think there would be enough torque to move the truck from a standstill without really pushing it, so that's good news.

Sharp looking trucks with the sport package. His doesn't have it and came with 17" wheels that his wife didn't like. Dealer has 18" FX4 rims from a truck they put a 6" lift and wheels on and going to put them on his. Should look sharp.

I agree the forum is rife with EB issues and heavily modded 5.0L V8s, etc. I have had V6's in the past and were ALWAYS disappointed by the lack of power and poor mpg despite being the "smaller engine". (chevys)

I love my Flame Blue 2013 STX Scab 3.7 for many reasons. It's all I need in a truck without too many gadgets that I'll never use. It has enough amenities to make it a pleasant ride. The mpg is very good...I average 17.5 mpg in stop and go traffic which is 75% of my driving. I get about 22-24 hwy mpg below 70 mph. Oh...the BEST reason is it's the exact same color as my Harley!
Only drawback is the rear doors...HATE THEM! And the sound system, but that is easily remedied with upgraded speakers.
The only mods I've made so far is I lowered the rear 3"s, installed Polk Audio speakers, tinted windows, spray in bed liner, and put in some Harley floor mats.
For the future, possibly a dual CAT back exhaust, better intake, and a tuner.

Anyway...
