Default Just Started Getting Poor MPG

I have a 2012 fx4 screw ecoboost with 5500 miles. I had gotten as high as 25.5 mpg on an hour long highway trip, but most times i would avg 21-22 highway. A few weeks ago i had my catalytic converter replaced, and since then my mpg has gone down. On the highway the highest i have been able to get is 18.3 mpg (same stretch of highway that i avg 19.5 when the truck had 10 miles). Please let me know if anyone has an ideas for me. Thanks.

Where do you live? If in any of the northern climes.....welcome to the wonderful world of winter and oxygenated gas....colder weather also means lower mpg. I've heard that you can lose 1 mpg for every 10 degrees decrease in temps.

I live in Wisconsin. But since i started getting poor mpg the temps aren't much different than when i was getting 22 mpg. I am wondering does this have something to do with the fact that i needed a new catalytic converter?

Just be ause it isn't cold yet doesn't mean they are not producing winter fuel. Sudden fall in gas prices here combined with worse mileage confirms winter gas for us in MT.

I'd be happy with 18 mpg I've never seen over 15-16

Not sure the new cat would do anything. I think its just coincidence and its winter fuel. I noticed same thing about 3-4 weeks ago.

Winter fuel makes next to no difference. It's the cold itself. Look up the energy content difference, it's less than 2%.
