Default GT Mustang Cams in F150

Hey guys, I am considering putting the GT cams in soon, and was just wanted to see if any of you guys have put GT mustang cams in your F150. If you have, what did it run you labor wise? By the looks of it labor is going to run more than the parts to do the swap. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I think we have the same exhaust cams as the GT, can anyone confirm/deny this? Only intake cams are different i believe.

I believe that is the case as well. I am looking at swapping the intake cams. I should have been more specific.

Yea I would like to know total cost as well and is it worth it? Or would an aftermarket cam swap be better

Labor cost for the install will be in the $1,500 range (~20 hours labor). I was quoted this from two different shops for the install in a 5L mustang. I have a new set of Comp Cams stage 3 that I never put in my car and I plan to sell them now if interested.

Generally truck cams are designed for more torque and performance car cams are designed for more top end HP. Not sure about the difference between the truck and Mustang cams though.

Interested to hear more about this. Does anybody have the cam specs available? I swapped the NPI cams in my '96 Mustang for some PI cams out of a 2002 4.6L and that was pretty easy. There was even a place which sold a special timing chain holder so you didn't have to drop the front covers and reset the cam timing.

Yes, and given the weight of the F150, I wouldn't be certain that switching to Mustang cams would be an advantage. It might even work against you.

aftermarket cam would more than likely be more beneficial than a mustang cam. Something in the 218/218 or 220/220 is pretty common iirc

Do you know the specs on the mustang cams? How do we know they would be beneficial if we don't know the specs?
