If someone bought an EB purely to save money on gas they will surely be disappointed. Especially if you have a heavy foot. That truck should be bought because of what it can do and the low end pulling power it has, and still provide decent economy. Not to be confused with an econobox.

Amen! I bought mine because of the throttle response, the torque and the power band. Bonus if I can milk it for better mpg when I want to, but really... it out-performed the 5.0 when I test drove them back to back.. on just what I mentioned above. It is just plain fun to drive.

I have a company vehicle so the EB is used to get us and the crap to and from the cabin each weekend 150 miles each way...the commute starts out as bumper to bumper traffic and then turns into highway driving. When the wife drives the EB we get an average of 19MPG and when I drive its 16MPG for the same stretch as I love spinning up the turbos...its just way to much fun.
Now there are a couple of forum members that will now have to tell me that their 5.0 gets better mileage to which I say well hell ya because Ford builds great motors, but I really don't care I didn't buy the EB for mileage I bought it for the fun of it. If this was my daily driver I would have probably went with the 5.0 or the 3.7
I completely enjoy my F-150 with the EB engine and am very happy I was given the option of having it instead of just another 5.4
I say bravo to Ford as I find very little fault in the 2011 F-150
And lastly it might be a mid-life crisis thing for me as 2 years ago traded in the 2-stroke 700 snowmobile (very messed with) for a 4-stroke turbo (that of course I had to mess with) I love smokin the youngsters on my "grandpa sled"...stock boost is good but MORE boost is better
This Turbo thing is way to much fun...
As Goober says STAY BOOSTY
(how long will it take the other guys to get a turbo full size truck into production...bet it wont take long...)

Loki, norse god of tricks and lies. Version 5.0
You buy the smallest, most aero, lightest F150 body style, (reg cab, short box, 2wdr) and get the 5.0 engine. You then constantly chide people with ecoboosts of how you get better mileage than them.
Well I've never even seen a truck like yours in my parts and most everyone posting mileage is comparing 4x4 Screws and Scabs with 3.73 or 3.55 gears. Their trailer towing mileage is usually large travel trailers between 5-9 k lbs.
So go find an ecoboost owner with your exact setup, and drive them side by side for a few hundred miles, then get back to us with your video proof of superior mileage and we will bow down to your mighty and efficient 5.0 and give it the highest recommendations to buyers looking for great economy car performance.
Lmfao!

Maybe they could offer a RCSB with super space age material aero trailer included and call it the Loki package?
