Default Ecoboost = 2nd Coming of christ?

Well since I have observed a lot of hilarious ecoboost posts and I thought we needed a thread where you guys can argue about it. LOL.

I personally like the eco. I know Ford has done torture tests etc, but there is a big "persona" if you will about "complicated" motors to most people. Curious to see how they last and if that will effect resale value at all.

Not to mention that that with the $500 5.0 cash right now, the eco is $1,250 bucks more expensive than the 5.0.

So let the debate begin and all the hp and engine guys can have at it and stop hijacking other guys' threads.

I like my 5.0. I never drove an EB, but im sure its a great engine. I like the V8 sound tho. So EB wasnt even a choice. Props to the EB owners tho. i watched that torture test and its one killer engine.

all praise the EB, mightiest engine around, slayer of the European luxury brands (even while giving up 200+hp).

Oh, and if you happen to mention that someone might be overstating it's awesomeness, you will be labeled a troll and a hater so just dont do it, they clearly are right and only their opinion matters (hmm sounds like a bunch of democrats to me).

Besides, when did commenting directly on the original post become hijacking a thread? Man, I posted one opinion and it was related to the original post and everybody else got off topic to beat on me. typical.

Lets see...liquid cooled twin turbos?

No extra belts...derives power by using already produced exhaust...turbo technology is not "space age" at all...improves hp and mpg over engines with more cubic engines...makes towing at altitudes a "breeze"...

Approximate BE for the $1250.00 price difference occurs around 27,000 miles (EB-19mpg vs 5.0-16mpg)

Until they put a medium sized Diesel in the F150, I think the EcoBoost is the next best thing.

***figured overall mpg at 19 vs 16 and fuel at $3.90...definitely not exact but close***

***strictly Republican/Libertarian***

I think this debate is getting hilarious.

Fact. People are going to defend their decision/purchase no matter what, it's human nature. Ultimately we are the winners in this because both are great engines.

Although the reliability/complexity comments about the Eco are ridiculous in this day in age, especially when most owners wont keep their truck past 100k

And second these same 5.0 guys say the Eco isn't worth it then go out and spend almost the same premium for the Eco on a tuner to make their 5.0 competitive and sacrificing the reliability train they were riding.

Again both are phenomenal engines and picking whatever is best for YOU is the right choice.

Where is 19 and 16 coming from? 5.0 are getting better real world right now but are also more broke in so that can change.

My thoughts are 1. We are all lucky as Ford owners to have the options that we do, both the Eco and the 5.0 appear to be great engines (only time will confirm this), 2. Is the Eco the end all be all? No but it is a phenominal little engine, considering that from a 3.5 liter motor you get more horsepower and nearly as much torque as the final version of the 6.8L V10 (362/457), 3. Is the 5.0 the end all answer, no but we get a motor that will scream like a banshee when pushed and appears to have a lot of untapped potential. And if that is not enough we can get the 6.2 (wow). So, I think that we are very fortunate to be Ford owners as Ford is doing great things. Just my take.
