I wonder what Ford is going to do when summer hits and the plate they just installed on these trucks is now causing the air charge to be too hot making the truck pull timing and run like a$s.

Wise move Ford.............wise move.

So this happened to me today. I was trying to pass a truck hauling a boat and hit 75mph then just froze there leaving me in the lane with on coming traffic. Luckily the other truck was going slow enough I was able to merge back into my lane.

Does the condensation TSB fix this, or is there another fix available?

It happened again truck fell on its face after trying to merge on the highway. It just started to drizzle as I was merging on the interstate from the on ramp doing about 60 mph and I lost my throttle, and almost got hit from cars behind me and to the side. I was able to coast to the 4 foot shoulder of the roadway after what felt like 10 mins but was probably only 1 min. I pushed the throttle down a few times with no response. The truck was running and idling around 700 rpm. I then turned it off and started up and ran fine except with a few hard shifts in the 1st 4 gears. I had the new PCM update and the I/c plate installed. A few weeks ago. I'll tell you what it was some scary sh**.

Its called "limp" mode. Theres a few threads about it
Its to protect the turbos from something.

I have a 2010 5.4L, so i Cant say Ive experienced it, but Im pretty sure you can research it.

Well whatever it was, it was dangerous and almost caused a crash in rush hour traffic on I95 in sc.

Man I feel for you having this issue

My truck has yet to do this but I do live in arizona. I also Flog the crap out of it daily. I think this keeps it clear of any build up.

I sure hope ford gets this fixed for you having the troubles

Thats messed up. If that's the best the ford enginees can come up with, (LIMP MODE), they need to rethink their design. Thats a dangerous scenario.

I have had the TSB 12-2-10 completed and this problem still persists. The difference is before the re-flash I would get a flashing CEL. It stayed on once so I was able to get the TSB performed. Since the TSB i have this problem but no light. The problem comes and goes along with the mileage, varying from 18mpg to 12mpg on the same road, same speed for the last 15000 miles. I drive the same trip every 2 weeks, 342 miles, vary gas stations frequently to see if I can pinpoint a pattern. There is no pattern that I can find. It might not do it for 2 months then it might do it 4 or 5 times on a trip. I haven't taken it to the dealer again because there have been no lights and I didn't want to get the " We couldn't replicate the problem!" spill. The problem usually presents itself at the worst time on the highway, like when you are trying to not get run over. It usually just does it once then not again for a while. The last couple of weeks I have been making videos every time I mash it and was able to get the beast on video. It is definitely going to the dealer and I am not taking it back until they come up with a good answer and fix to the problem. I have 4 kids and if something happened with them in the truck, when I knew the problem was there, I would never forgive myself. What are y'alls thoughts. Let me know if the videos wont work.

You are talking being worried about the safety of your four kids and you take it up to 90 miles an hour?? Come on man, you need to get real.

It's not a problem for 95% of Eco owners. I'm glad I'm in that 95%.
