AFE Stage 2 thoughts?
SpeeofSound, I am really sorry about our poor service here on this part. I am working with production and they think we can get some units out before months end and then have all of our backorders completed by early June. Completely our fault and unacceptable. I appreciate your support even though we have not met your expectations. I look forward to getting these parts out and getting some more feedback from the group.
Thanks

Thanks again Jason for the help, I know from experience at my work how important taking customer like what you get here into consideration...and if we can help make the product better then we all win in the end!

Im planning on getting me one of these intakes as well and have a question.. how much of a difference will the dry one vs the regular really make? You only have to clean it about every oil change correct? would the dry effect power?
abouzahrr you will get tons of opinions on this...I for one have an opinion and I think I CAI could be a great little piece for this truck..now I say think bc I havent tried one out yet, however I do like this AFE Stage 2.
Speaking from experience I had a Mazdaspeed 6, very different type of vehicle but similar engine, it was a 4 cylinder Direct Injection turbocharged car....and I put a CAI on it, and it really opened up the car...it seems to run out of steam in upper rpms, and once I put the intake on it had a little more pep all the way thru...Having had several turbo cars, we all no the better they breathe, the better they respond. So throw in intake on with an exhaust and tune, and you will be doing quite well Im sure of it. I eventually would like to get all three as well as time and $$$ permits.

The Pro 5R air filter flows about 8-10% better than the dry. That variation doesn't show up on the dyno. Both filters are washable and reusable. Don't clean them too often. I recommend cleaning every 20-30k. The trick to knowing if the filter is clogged is to look at your filter and if you still see the wire mesh on the outside of the filter, it is not too dirty. Either way the filter can far outflow the capacity of the tubes so you don't need to clean every oil change. That frequency will actually erode the filter more quickly.
We are shipping about 75 units this week and another 250 units next week. These will have an updated coupler as well as a second coupler in the box.
