I just installed the 93 perf/tow tune and so far I'm blown away. I've never used a tuner before but have modded intakes and exhausts. I always felt the results were very marginal but I did feel the difference.

THIS TUNE IS AWESOME!

People talk the ecoboost up so much that I was a little disappointed with how the truck performed. I thought my 3.15 gears were the culprit.

I pulled out onto the highway from a 93 fill up and broke the tires loose unintentionally. The truck just flies... feels more like a boosted diesel. I think I can live with the 3.15 gears now You guys running 3.73s must melt'em down.(which must be a blast)

I hope everything works out well in time but for now I'm grinning.

I spoke to Mike today about the 93 perf tune and the boost blowoff I was getting under 2500rpm when accelerating at about 30% throttle. It's almost like the truck is sneezing with a very short pause in between. The truck then realizes at about 3k rpm that I want the power and takes off! He said this is normal as the nature of the tune can be compared to a dragster. I can adapt my driving behavior to the tune because it is a blast to drive with the 3.73s, the truck is a beast!

I did install the 93 perf/tow tune to see if it did the same thing and it does not. It is more tame and easier to drive you could say. The power is still incredible compared to stock but not as quick as the 93 perf tune. I will be loading the perf tune back as I do not tow that much and would like to beat on some of my buddies that have diesels.

Overall very happy with the 5 Star tunes and Mike is great to work with!

I took this video earlier today to show another friend and figured it would be good here.

Mike was not lying where he said.....
"In all F150 3.5L V6 vehicles the Torque Converter strategies can be reworked to lock up sooner and stay locked longer at light cruising speeds to also help with economy...A locked converter is power to the ground. Sometimes a stock truck when you hit any incline the truck will unlock OD gear and down shift. We can get your truck to hold OD longer and not unlock... now of course on large hills it will down shift...like it should..."

The truck held sixth at such a low speed and rpm without loosing speed until I hit the hump almost at the top of the hill and needed to down shift when I lost 1 mph. You can see the degree angle go to 5 right before it down shifts and then back to 4 really quickly. That is the slight hump right before you get to the tip of the hill.

It's basically stock except for Mike's tunes. Only other thing is I replaced the 2 1/2" resonator section with 3" & put a Magnaflow on it to replace the stock muffler. A 4" system from Mike & a different throttle body/intake system is in the future plans.

i just loaded up the 93 perf only tune and this truck hauls azz! the thing that really stands out is the shifts are really firm. it almost scares me when it downshifts (very firm). nothing like the 87 perf/tow tune. i havent tried the 87/93 economy tunes or the 93 perf/tow tunes yet. i couldnt resist going straight to the 93 perf only tune. :-P so far so good. it breaks the tires loose when shifting to 2nd gear. grinning from ear to ear... need more seat time with it. mpgs are still better than stock even tho im having fun with the truck.
