Default 5.0 problem

Just wondering if any of you are having problem like me. The truck only has a little over 3000 miles on it. Today when I went to work everything was fine truck drove great, but when I got off the truck acted like it was running on 6 cylinders was down shifting on any type of incline and at a red light you had to put alot gas in it to take off. The display for the radio was acting crazy. I pulled over looked all around the truck nothing leaking or anything. But when I started it back up everything was back to normal. Just wondering if this was a fluke or is this a problem waiting to happen.

Sounds like you need a ECM reflash or there is a short somewhere. Its does not sound mechanical so your 5.0 should be fine. I would still have them reflash your ECM as soon as possible to be on the safe side. Also, if it happens again, I would recommend you using your smart phone or any type of recording device to record what is happening before you turn it off. With a video recording, the dealership will atleast see there is an issue and take you more seriously instead of just saying "We cannot replicate your issue so we cannot fix it". I hate when they say that.

Edit: After seeing a few more posts, you may not be a lone in this issue;

There is a tsb about the brake assist overriding the acceleration. Not sure on what conditions it has to be under though.
