It makes sense if you think about it. Stay out of the boost on an Eco and you are driving a 3.5.

I get much better city mileage with my truck; and it's not the Eco; I think it is driving style. Trying coasting and anticipating more. See a red light ahead? Coast. Try to time it to turn green again before you get there. Momentum is everything with these trucks in town; they're HEAVY. Saves brakes too!

I think that's why the clean mpg guys used the eco boost for their 33mpg trip....it has a smaller displacement. The thing about that 3.5 is that you need to keep those turbos from spinning up and it's tough without a gauge. I couldn't hear them at all when I test drove one either. Kinda hard not to "unleash the power" too...if you know what I mean LOL
