Default 2014 f150 pulling truck 5.0

Im new to forum and want to build a 5.0 f150 pulling truck. My plan is to put a boss 302 intake on it and set of cams and headers with custom tunes. Use a super duty tcase and one ton axles out of a 06 f350. Pull low range 2nd with 4.10 gears. Tied of watching ls trucks dominate are local stock gas class. Anyone see a problem with my idea?

Anything is possible if you throw enough $$$$ at it. That would make a good build thread. I'd subscribe.

I don't know anything about truck pulls, but is it still "stock class" if you're F150 has Superduty powertrain parts?

Yes it is. Are rules are one ton drivetrain. I dont think it be that expensive. I have a 06 f350 donor truck and found a adapter to put a 99-03 t case behind the 6r80.

That'd be pretty cool to see! I think it'd work well, not sure the 302 intake is worth it though. Check out this video from VMP.

Looks like a ported 18 manifold is what i need then. I want turn the engine 7500.

Would a 6.2 F250 w/ F350 axles be worse?

That would be my recommendation. It'll likely be cheaper as well.

6.2 has same front axle as a f350. Power the problem. There not as much horsepower to be gained from a 6.2. Im. Wanting 600 at the engine.

Sled pulling engines are actually built very much like drag engines and for that reason I'd go ported Boss+90mm tb or CobraJet. Boss would be the cheaper route. Power to 8000 will do more than power top 73-7500.

As for the video vmp did, that's a test to sell intakes. Those results can be very different with different tuners and track times just don't reflect that 18 manifold being the better option
