UPR catch can review. What a mess... Literally!

I've seen cruded up intake valves which can't be a good thing, but I'm sure there are 5 & 6 year old ecoboost trucks with more than 150k that are still on the road. Just trying to make it last longer. Not sure if I uploaded the picture correctly, but that is what came out of the catch can after 2600 miles.

I would assume the same, but everyone keeps pushing them. I just bought one, but heard of an issue with the check valves freezing in extreme cold. We just went through a few weeks of single digit temperatures. I guess UPR should do some testing in colder climates. Not everyone is lucky enough to have Florida weather. For now, I'm keeping the catch can off the truck.

I checked my 2018 3.5 Ecoboost at the passenger side (return?) intercooler lines & found some oil in the lines. Why cant this oil be intercepted here before entering the intercooler?

Well, My experience with the UPR system is quite the opposite from yours. I purchased it from Stage 3 Motorsports, it came with clear instructions, I installed in about 30 minutes, easily, and it works as advertised. About every 6 weeks, I empty a 16 oz water bottle amount of crud.
Just sayin.
And to clarify: Any modified, forced-induction application absolutely should involve clearing this **** from the upper cylinders. Previous owner of a 93 Procharged Cobra and 04 Terminator.

I have replaced the check valves (both) with the pro series UPR check valves and added an additional check-valve between the driver valve cover and the intake tube (pre-turbo). This will allow the crankcase to pull fresh air on the driver side and exhaust on the passenger side through the catch can.
I'm looking at the adjustable UPR PVC valve (on the passenger valve cover port), this should allow for increase flow.... It most likely best to allow the most unrestricted flow on the exhaust side. The factory check valve has a set restriction and is more suited for the stock setup with the factory hose/tube connected directly to the intake manifold.
