so im looking at the troyer site at their programmers as well as the edge. i like that the edge is right there and you get feedback-temps etc. they are about the smae price at 400. i also want a plug and play programmer. i dont want to have to go to some shop to get it tuned for me. im leaning towards the edge for this reason. can anyone give me imput on this?

I believe Mike Troyer has been tunning these trucks longer than anybody. You don't necessarily need to go see him, once you get your tunes from him you can DATA log your air/fuel ratio and send it to him, from there he can make any nessery adjustments to your tunes if needed. If you want the added gauges look at getting the Livewire. If your still sold on Edge, talk with Bill at www.powerhungryperformance.com He sells Gyphon which is basically an Edge with custom tunes.

Every single tuner has their problems! Check the tuners actual forums if you dont believe me...Diablo, Superchips (Flashpaq) Edge...Everything!

My cousin has the edge for his 4.6 STX and loved hit. Never had a problem. He put it on his new FX2 5.4. and still loved it (Until the motor started missing) so he took it out for a while. He has not put it back in but he plans too. The nice thing about edge is the read out monitor and changing settings on the fly.

If you go with the edge, I high recommend having your dash mat or getting a dash mat and taking it to an upholstery place and having them customize it to fit over and around the read out and back down the dash. My cousin did it and it looks amazing! Ill try to get a pic when I go back to town...Im away at school right now.

Every performance guy I talk to say...Intake, Exhaust, then tuner...This way the truck can breath and there are no restrictions and you get the full benefit of the tuner.

The magnaflows had it sounding great but paired with the CAI!! Holy smokes! Overdrive sounds AWESOME!

On the test run I took it out on the freeway. She was at 70 with no effort at all. I didn't even realize it because I was concentrating on the sound. Once I slowed her down to 60-65 mph all I had to do was occasionally give her a little gas and she was pretty much coasting at 60. Maybe that's why they save gas!

Loving it! I guess a tuner is next. Do tuners void your warranty?
Jaffe, tuners wont void your warranty but make sure the tuner you buy saves your stock setting and allows you to return your truck to stock whenever you please for a few reasons...

1) The dealer may try to void your warranty if they find you installed it.
2) The dealer will charge you to "re-flash" your computer if there is a tune on it and you take it in.
