I just started looking into them too. From what I've gathered,
-There are two sizes, not sure but i think our trucks take the longer.
-I've heard problems about cheap ones getting water in them.
-Different ones do different functions (turn signals, brakes, reverse, running)

The one thing I'm worried about is I haul a lot of dirt and crushed stone and I'm afraid of getting some rocks stuck in there and breaking the lights.

Hope that helped at all.

I have one on mine. I think the long one may be too long I'm not sure. I have the short one and yes cheaper ones do get water in them. The best one I have bought was 69.99 by anzo from Oreillys. If you mount it in the small gap when the (tailgate is closed) between it and the bumper, nothing will touch it unless your cables break. Is you have Trailer light hookups you'll need another pig tail to tie it all together. Had mine from over a year with no problems. Ill try to get a pic tomorrow night

You can fit the 60" bar on them instead of the 45" I think like PTERRELL has.

Mount it in a piece of angle iron, Like the overhang of a house would protect the top. Wouldn't take that thick of a piece either...

I went through a few of the cheaper ones on my old '03. When I picked up the '10, I tried Streetglow's 60" LED light bar (about $65, if I remember correctly). Just looking at it when UPS arrived, I knew I made the right choice! I've had them on for 14 months now and they still look like they did on day 1. The cheaper ones tend to have the plastic dry up and crack. That's when the moisture ruins everything.

This looks fantastic on the truck. My solution to things falling from under the tailgate was to get a roll of black duct tape. Doing some overlapping, you end up with adhesive to attach to the base of the bed and adhesive for the bottom of the gate. No stickiness anywhere else. It's a very effective seal and NOTHING can fall through!

I'll snap pictures at midday... stay tuned.

The above is what I bought for my 2010 XLT. You'll want the 60"; fits perfectly and a snap to install. Helped me to take the tailgate off, though.

I removed it prior to getting my 2012 Lariat last week, and it's already up and running...errr...lit up on the new truck.

Had it for over a year, and absolutely no problems with it. I got the one with the reverse back-up lights.

Lots of compliments from drivers at red lights!
