Hi all, new member here. Just got a 2015 Super Crew Cap F150 last week. I ordered a LEER cap for it. I read somewhere that I might want to cover up the middle brake light because it will cause glare. Have any of you experienced this? I was thinking about putting electrical tape over it before I take it in to have the cap put on.

Take out the 2 screws on the lens cover. Remove the light bulbs. Put some silicone chalk on the lens edges (prevents any future leaks). Res crew the lens cover back on. Simple. Must be done before the cap is placed on.

I used to install both Leer and Snug Top ( we called them camper shells back in Ca. ) a good installer will remove the bulbs from your factory CHMSL before installing the cap. Call and ask them before you bring it in. If they are not going to do it, remove the bulbs before you bring it in.

I had one put on my '17 in November and I have not noticed it once. I have the Leer XL. I guess maybe they took the bulbs out before they put the top on, but I was there and don't remember seeing them do this. I know when I stop and open a door the white light glares a bit, but never noticed the brake light. I'll check tonight and see if I can see it.
