The RetraxOne is made of Lexan, a polycarbonate plastic. The RetraxPro is made of aluminum.

Take a look at peragon - lockable, and can still open the tailgate. You can have the cover completely open, partially open, and remove it entirely if you need to use the whole bed.

Can you open the tailgate with the retrax pro locked? ... Or will you have to open both cover locks every time you open the tailgate?

2nd the Peragon. I personally have a fold a cover G4, but if I was going retractable I'd go with Peragon. The quality/price is hard to beat. The prices I was quoted in Dallas, Texas for a Roll n Lock was almost 2x the price of a Peragon. I didn't/don't see the mark-up difference.

Keep looking and make an educated decision. I can't stress enough the importance of seeing each product in person. You will be stuck with this cover for years so you are doing the correct thing in not rushing the decision.

Finally, whatever you purchase will leak water. So, don't go in thinking that ANYTHING other than a true fiberglass tonneau will offer a 100% waterproof protection. It will leak more than what anyone tells you, so, be prepared. I'm not talking buckets of water, but you will have more than a few ounces of water in your truck bed.

Good luck,

You can open the tailgate without having to open the cover. You can open the cover without having to open the tailgate. The RetraxPro has only one lock, but the lock engages both sides of the truck.

I just installed my peragon this week. So far, pretty happy with it. Haven't yet tried a water test, but from what I've read it's not any worse than most covers out there. Some folks even say it stays bone dry. But we'll see.
