Hi all,

I just bought a new 2013 FX4 5.0. Later today I am installing a Flowmaster American Thunder cat back system. I dont plan on doing any other mods other than the exhaust and a tuner. I am looking at the Diablo I1000 and the STC 3015. I have used Diablo previously on my 08 Mustang with good results. It seems everyone here raves about the STC. Basically I am looking for a comparison of the two, and which would be better for my new truck. Also I believe that with not doing any major mods the canned tunes should fill my needs. Is that correct. I live around Baltimore, so pretty much at sea level.

I can't speak for the Diablo but for a SCT, you would get net gains of 15-18 horses to the wheels and 30-35 torque on a SCT tune.

Should the canned tunes serve my basic needs? Again, not planning on doing any other mods than the exhaust. Of course that is subject to change!!

As I said, subject to change. I am very happy with my Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust. My SCT tuner will be here soon. I am considering putting in a K&N 77 series CAI.

1. Do I need a custom tune for just the exhaust?
2. Will I need a custom tune for the CAI?
3. Will the CAI make any significant sound increase as any louder may be obnoxious.

Any input would be appreciated.
