Hi Heath,
I just purchased a new 2018 F-150 XLT Supercab 4X4 Sport with a 6'-6" bed and am seriously considering purchasing a Peragon cover. As others have mentioned, the world of cover options seem to be endless but less so when one is trying to coordinate a cover with a rack system. I spoke by phone today with a customer service rep who confirmed for me that the Paragon cover is compatible with a Thule TracRac SR system which I also intend to install. Can you tell me if it matters whether I install the the cover or the rack first?

I also live in snow country at Lake Tahoe in California. The rep told me that snow shouldn't be a problem but it's not clear to me how much snow "isn't a problem" I know that snow can weigh anywhere from next to nothing to quite heavy depending on how wet it is. It's easy to brush the snow off daily but sometimes we can get quite a bit of snow overnight. Can you provide any guidance as to when snow build-up would become a concern?

I also see on the online ordering page a required sign-off that says "I have physically measured and confirmed the length of my truck bed and am ordering the correct length bed cover." Technically I have a 6'-6" bed but it actually measures 6'-5-1/2" inside. The width varies from 5'-2-3/8" at the front to 5'-2-1/2" at the rear. When ordering a 6'-6" cover will these discrepancies be significant or should I note these actual dimensions in the comments box on the order form?

Please also send me the information on the Ford F150 Forum discount.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi Peter -

Congratulations on your new F-150 and thank you for considering a Peragon bed cover to complete it!

We would recommend installing your Peragon bed cover first, then your Thule TracRac SR system. The reason being is our cover rails nest in the shadow of the TracRac SR rails, so it is easiest to have ours mounted first.

Our cover is engineered to support 300 pounds of distributed weight like snow. So even a heavy overnight snow should not create an issue. The important thing is to brush off most of the snow before driving, as the weight in motion "bouncing" on the cover could damage it.

Your dimensions are great. We round to the nearest inch and/or list the standard factory bed dimensions. So ordering the 6'-6" cover is designed to fit your bed, even though the actual dimension you measure is 1/2" less, good question.

We do have a special offer for forum members. However, right now we're actually running an even better promotion to celebrate our 20th anniversary! If you enter your email address on our website, you'll receive the details and offer code.

Thank you! - Heath

Thank you, Heath. Can you comment as to whether the ramps in the front of the truck would interfere with the front Ford Box Link brackets? I have the lock-in tie downs installed in the front BoxLink brackets and would like to continue using them.

They do, and that's one of my minor gripes. My solution was to install a couple e-track rings, which fit with no problem.

Thanks. What is an e-track ring?

You can get them at your local Harbor Freight, or online from Amazon (pretty sure that's where I got mine). E-track is an industry standard system of rails and fittings for commercial trucks, and the various adapters and tie-downs work in your Boxlink mounts.

O.K. Thanks. I'll check it out online. I assume they are sized to be compatible with the BoxLink plates and can just clip into place?

Yep - any e-track device will clip into the Boxlink mount. Super easy - easier than the ones that came with the truck!

Hi Heath,
I received my Peragon cover on Friday the 17th and installed it on the 18th. It looks and works great. It did snow about an inch here overnight and while I realize the cover is not waterproof, I am surprised at how much melting snow entered the bed. I'll call you customer support line this week to see if there are additional adjustments I can make to minimize water intrusion.

A bigger concern is that one of the reasons I ordered a Peragon cover was the assurance from both your customer service department and you in the prior post that the cover would be compatible with TracRac SR base rails. Now that I have the cover installed I am concerned that it may not be compatible. According to information I have been able to obtain online, the TracRac SR base rails are 4" wide. They do have fully radiused sides but, if centered on the stake hole openings (which I think is the case), they will overlap the edge of the Peragon side rail by 5/8" to 3/4". I'm doubtful that will work. Do you (or anyone else on this forum) have actual experience with installing the TracRac SR system over the Peragon cover? I hesitate to order the TracRac system without knowing it will work with the cover and I'm not sure I should keep the cover if it isn't compatible with the rack system.
