I had a set on my 2007 Titan but before I installed them I had them Line-X coated. I heard they had a corrosion issue so I took care of that before installing. They were in great shape when I traded in the truck in 2014.

Well, so far the bars I bought off Ebay seem ok. I was able to apply no less than 5 thin coats of spray bedliner, the Rustoleum brand to both steps. I paid particular attention to the spots JerseyGray showed in his photos that had worn very poorly. I sanded everything well and applied extra product in the spots where it was needed.

It was cheap and covered pretty well. It took three cans to cover. So far with a bit of driving down gravel roads no pitting or anything on the front edge of the tubes but, of course, we'll see what happens.

what if you sandblasted them and then paint them with bedliner material? I saw a guy put bedliner material on his chalky plastic fender flares. it looked pretty good.

I bought a used set of NFabs back in 04 from a friend of mine. He had them Line X'ed before I got them. I sold the truck in 2010/11 and they were still like new. As far as I know they are still on the truck and still looking great!

Here's a pic just before I sold it. Name: photo92.jpg

Sure I can sandblast and refinish but that's really not the point. They sell them for Top dollar with a 5 year finish warranty. It would be nice to get somewhere near 5 years or a reasonable replacement plan. I got NEITHER.
If anyone wants these to refinish themselves, let me know and their yours, Free.

Seems like you should be able to file a complaint, show them pictures and get a refund or new ones without you having to ship them back. They know their product is junk. These bars should last 10 years or whatever. I dont want to upgrade my truck temporarily then be forced to buy more stuff in 2 years. Because of your post I would not buy anything from them. I dont buy anything till I research through mainly these forums. Thanks for telling us. BTW I got a refund from a company on a product just by telling him he sent me a bad product and he refunded me without me proving it or shipping it back. That is integrity. I am going to go to your original post and put a thanks thumbs up thingy. I dont know how significant that is but it is happening.

Tisdale36, I could not agree with you more. My fault for not researching as much as I should.

I wasn't implying that you did sloppy research. I was thanking you for paying it forward. Did you already mention your new bars, I am assuming you replaced them? Pictures maybe?

No, I did sloppy research. My friend had a set that was a year old and still nice so I bought with very little research. Believe me, it won't happen again. As for new bars, I bought Westons for half the price installed and so far I light the look better.
