Default To mod or not to mod

Hey guys, thought I should ask some professionals on the 3.5 ecoboost. I’ve had this truck 6 months and completed a few mods, ams turbo inlet tubes, msd coils, banks ram air, jlt 3.0 and some denso TT plugs. I keep getting a p04db which is coming from my intake. My question is should I just keep going and get some exhaust, and a tuner? I think a custom tune would fix that little cel but what are some pros and cons to building an ecoboost? I’m driving a 2015 lariat with 70,000 miles on it. Already having some pesky issues with things going out, but I don’t want to make it harder on me with modding an ecoboost at 70k and needing a motor or turbos.

Wow, you sure did replace a lot of good parts with less than good parts.
The turbo tubes may be good, I have no idea.
The plugs and coils are a definitely downgrade though.

I think you need to sort out the error code before you keep adding parts that may degrade the performance. The tuner will be a good thing for performance, but do it after your exhaust if you want. I can promise you, aside from the turbo, your truck is not any more powerful than it was before you threw parts at it and introduced an error code. Most aftermarket exhausts make the 3.5 sound weird, if that's what you are shooting for then great. If you didn't know that, then consider yourself informed. ha

At 70,000, the motor should still be in great shape as long as it has been maintained with good oil changes, etc. Mod away if that is what you want to do but don't stay away because it does have 70,000 miles. Perfectly fine to mod. Like mentioned earlier though, the plugs and coils are not any upgrade what.so.ever.

I went to Google and typed in "ford p04db". There is a youtube video result, maybe check it out if you aren't aware of any problems. I didn't watch the video, just sharing that it out there, posted by FordBossMe.

guess I'd start reversing what I'd done and figure out the fault code that's showing up.

The fault code is definitely from the intake. Ive tried the “plastic pipe” from afe and still getting it. I’ve replaced the sensor and all but the only way it stays away is with the stock intake on. I do agree that the coils and plugs were a complete waste tho I’m going to buy some new stock ones. Has anyone heard exhaust that actually sounds good on one? I’ve searched YouTube for months but how can ya really tell from a video 😂

I would put stock coils in it and sell the MSD coils to a sucker on facebook
Change the air intake back to stock and replace the stock paper filter with a AEM dry filter
Put motorcraft plugs in it (colder plugs).

I would skip the exhaust
I would get a custom tune on it from 5 star, tell them you need plugs too, they are $45.

I do enjoy the intake cause it solved ALOT of turbo lag with those bigger tubes when I run the stock intake it takes awhile to wake up.
