hypertech max energy?
I found a programmer on craigslist and i was wondering if the max energy is a good programmer i have a 2004 fx4 5.4l will i get noticeable fuel milage gains with it? I get 11 mpg right now keeping it under 3000rpm

The hypertech max energy is a good unit BUT I would be wary of buying a used one If the previous owner did not return all of the settings to stock before he sells it then it becomes just a glorified paper weight. Hypertech will reset it for you but they want big bucks to do it.

The only way is to connect it to your truck and see if it will accept it. If it recognizes your VIN then your good to go if not it will tell you.

If buying a used one make sure you get the setup/update disc. Useless without it. I use the max energy programmer on my 05 5.4 3v. You wont gain any mpg at all. Mine dropped a little. Throttle response is better, the 87 octane tune is hardly noticeable, the 93 octane tune definately wakes it up. The trans tweaks are pretty good too.
