I am know that K&N is a great quality brand, I guess what I mean is with the one that I put a link up to will it allow the engine to breath better then a K&N? Can a filter allow to much air flow?

Not sure about to much air flow but I do know its less restrictive than the stock intake. I went with K&N because from what I understand they were the original cold air intake producers. I would ask the other guys in this forum for more info.

I've got the JLT. It works great and its got a great sound.
However, it pulls air directly from the engine bay and I wouldn't recommend it if you sit in traffic or go through mud.

I went from a K&N to the JLT.

The truck has the same power with either. but the tune for theJLT is different.

I can't imagine that the filter is any worse for mud or water being on top of the motor instead of off to the side.

I thought that the engine heat and the JLT would be a problem. not as far as I can tell. my truck runs fine.

I did change the filter from the large JLT brand to a K&N with a dust cover. (sock)
they are available local and I can get the sock over the counter.

Just installed a cai. Went with a spectre at half the price of the k&n off the shelf of Autozone. Truck runs great. Would recomend it. Next upgrade is exhaust.

Thumbs up

Found the boards a couple of weeks ago. Bone stock 2007 Lariat Supercrew 4x4. After hours and hours of reading on this board I went with the "Gotts Mod" with a K&N Air filer.

I noticed a good difference in response and all around power throughout the rpm range.

my vote goes w/the JLT kit, looks good, works, and you can duct air to the filter for ram application from pretty much anywhere since it is so centrally located.
