BakFlip tonneau cover.

BAKflip
I just installed one on my truck a couple of weeks ago. I have nothing but high marks for quality and customer service. I just wish more companies did business like BAKflip. The internet purchase is the way to go. Iordered mine and it was drop shipped five days later. I have an '08 so I don't have the leak issues yet. I will post if something changes. Meanwhile I love this top.

I got distracted and updated my BakFlip experiences on another topic about tonneau covers on this F-150 forum.
End result is the gutter seal worked perfectly. No leaks between rail and top plastic cap.
But if you pressure wash and use a leaf blower with 150mph velocity to dry, it can overflow the gutters so when you open the BakFlip, some water will drip back onto the underside of the rubber hinges.
The solution is don't hit the BakFlip hinges with pressure wash and/or blow dry.

^Derek, do you mean the retractable style covers? If so, I hear Rollbak or Retrax are both pretty good. I once had a RollnLock and it wasn't that great at all. If you want to consider buying a Rollbak, just email me and I can hook you up with a great Rollbak seller.

Not sure if you picked up a cover yet or not but I ordered mine through Realtruck.com and they shipped to Canada without hesitation. All told it was no more expensive than what some of the local dealers were charging for comparable brands.

This is a great tonneau cover if you want to keep valuable stuff locked up in the bed of your pickup. The pickup must have a locking tailgate since the BakFlip tonneau has no lock provision of its own.
Full open. Makes the rearview mirror useless, but good for a tall long load.
One panel closed.
Two panels closed.
Tailgate closed and locked.
Last panel closed and locked in place.
Cargo is locked and secure.
I should have gone to their website. They sell direct. I could have saved $50 that way. I bought it from a local pickup specialties dealer.

I have the same truck and I'm considering the Bakflip. Do ALL the panels lock to the rail? It seems like some models do and some models have one panel that is unlocked. (which seems like a theft issue to me)

If just one panel was unlocked, the cover could opened with some damage to the other panels. If two panels were unlocked, the cover could be opened by sliding the locked panel along the side rails as the two unlocked panels fold up.
With the door latch mechanism, you would have to be very neglegent to close the cover without locking it. Just the slightest bit of down pressure causes the panels to lock to the side rails. Easier than closing a door because you have gravity assist. :-)

Has anyone hauled a motorcycle with the bakflip folded all the way to the back window? Any issues?
Can you drive with just one or two panels folded or will they blow closed?
