Anzo U Bar Projectors
#11
The anzo look great and have been great so far... only issue I have is they fog up a bit inside because I had them slightly modified to fit retro solutions HIDs in them. Both the housing and lights have been flawless minus the heat from the south and the humidity causing them to fog slightly after heavy rain.

My HID ubars are being delivered today, bought some LEDs from 4x4s website, let's see what kind of trouble I can get into this evening.

If you don't have HIDs in your truck, order the halogen style ones. IF they are projector housings then you can install LED/HID in them. Anzo does not sell HID/LED bulbs just housings, so they'll give you whatever is LEGAL (projectors with halogen bulbs OR empty projectors to re-use your existing HID lights).
Some trucks have HID from the factory. You'd re-use those bulbs in the new housings.
Some trucks don't have HID and have halogen from factory. So you'd re-use those bulbs.
With either option you CAN put in whatever bulb you want. Installing LED or HID in new housing IF your truck is equpped with H13 Halogen bulbs is EASIER because there are tons of kits out there.
IF your truck has HID and you get new housings AND you want to replace those HIDs... that becomes a bit trickier. Direct OEM replacement bulbs are easiest, plug and play. Installing a new aftermarket HID kit is trickier. The wires/ballasts are not re-used and you have to disconnect them and figure some wiring out is all.
I see you already got things taken care of but at least if anybody else needs the same info they have it

Headlights are to be delivered today, got the bulbs last week. Might be contacting you for some support questions.
Looking forward to this, headlights look ubercool.

Ohh that's what those were for. Let us know if they fit as a lot of folks are curious. The H1 bulbs ARE small so hopefully they do fit. You may need to figure out a way to run the wire through whatever boot they give you (don't install the LED driver inside your housing). I've only had a FEW folks do what you are doing... just not a popular bulb size is all.

Honestly cant remember. If there was one in there the fabricator that cut the boot to fit the HIDs must have removed it. I may take them out at some point and let them dry in the garage and then seal them again. From what i hear its as easy as a silicon line around the edges and ensure the rubber is set fully on the housing. Then again famous last words are "its as easy as ____" haha.

Tested the LED bulb for fitment, pics below.
Anzo, Ford F-150 09-14 projector black U bar style amber, HID version, SKU 111351
Back of the headlamp, that big round cover in the middle is where the HID bulb is.
Cover removed, the HID bulb in place
HID bulb pulled out, on the right with the blue wire, am holding the LED bulb with the yellow square on it
Fits in the hole
Bulb fits the hole well, locks down using the factory latch mechanism, only issue I see so far is the factory cover may not fit with LED in place

Yeah you'll need a larger boot. You can figure out the size by measuring the hole you have. Measure from the middle of the plastic ring to the other side. Measure in mm if you can and then you can order that size.
If you measure 73mm get a 70mm cover. If you measure 81mm, get an 83mm... you always want it just smaller then the opening as they stretch.
There is also a MULTI SIZE available which is like a big pyramid and you cut the size you need off. Starts small at 70 and goes up to 100mm

Any idea what I need to wire this into my stock 2010 halogen setup? Uploading pics of the ballast.
