What radio do you have? Is it the cheapest possible base am/fm radio with no CD player?

Im looking to purchase a new truck. I would like cruise control, but option pkg 101a (cruise) adds quite abit to the sticker price. This would be an economical alternative, if doable.

Thanks,
Ken

There's a youtube video that shows how to remove and reinstall the airbag and wheel.

As for programming, I found the VIN of a truck identical to mine except it had the 101A package and compared the changes recommended above and the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=815852466.

There are only TWO changes that need to be made:
BCM 726-13-01 xxx8 xxxx xx--
SCCM 724-03-01 11xx xxxx --

My BCM was a "4" instead of an "8" and my SCCM was a "10" instead of "11". These jive with the spreadsheet.

*Bonus* The new steering wheel comes with audio and voice controls on the right side. I don't think the base head unit is capable of voice but if you change the 3rd and 4th values in SCCM to "23", you now get steering wheel audio controls. This makes SCCM 724-03-01 1123 xxxx --
can anyone confirm if this works with a 2018 f150 xl? I am thinking of buying FL3Z-3600-BA steering wheel and trying this. Am i really the first one to attempt this on a 18?

I called the local dealershipa, they say the FL3Z-3600-BA does not include any buttons. So i have to buy the buttons as well, which makes the steering wheel price $500 can. I may not need cruise that bad.

anyone able to confirm if their steering wheel came with buttons when they ordered it?

HL3Z-3600-DB came with buttons and it looks like FL3Z-3600-BA does as well... SEE HERE . If you click on the 2nd picture, part #1 is what you get when you buy the wheel which includes 3, 4, and 5. You'll need to swap the airbag module and reuse or buy part #2 which is the bolt that holds the wheel on.

Is swapping the airbag module tricky business? I understand a couple lines of code will also need to be modified to activate the cruise control. An earlier poster recommended using FORScan or a Dealer to accomplish this.

Thanks,
Ken
