WTB: 2018 Raptor at MSRP - any help ?

I started looking yesterday. A number of cars available in Southeast MI near Ann Arbor. Turns out it is between 2-3K off MSRP.

So with all this gouging going on, what could one sell a 2017 fully loaded Raptor for with 15k miles?

Sure I will bite and considering I can buy an 18 at MSRP; what than would you pay for a used one 1 year older with 15k miles on it? If you want to know true value try to trade it on something you know what you can buy before the trade. I will say you are 20k back of msrp on trade and private party sale maybe 10k back on your best day! In my state you lose the sales tax which means you negotiate hard and have to trade.

At the risk of someone saying I’m name dropping, and I promise you I’m not, I traded in a Macan Turbo, 2016, for my Raptor. My Macan had 24k miles, I think, though I could be off by a few thousand. MSRP was 95k. I paid 90k. Trade in after year and a half to two years was 60k. Now that hurts.
When I saw Gen 1 Raptors for sale on dealer lots, 2013 and 2014, with mileage in the high 40k range, for 48k, I was shocked. I just hoped Gen 2 would come anywhere near that.
But although he may not have any of his own allocauat the moment, Jorge Lopez of Tomball Ford on YouTube, sells Raptors for MSRP.
Oh, what do you mean you lose tax? My daughter lived in Washington State. We traded in her Civic for a CRV and the trade value is written on the contract after tax is figured on the new vehicle price so you don’t get the trade value off the new purchase price. Which sucks. Is that what you are saying? I’m in NY and always have been, for better or worse, and had never heard of that.

Selling the vehicle through Private Party when paying taxes it is on the new vehicle entire sales price. If traded in the trade amount is subtracted from the selling price and you are taxed on the difference in value. Generally speaking if the trade is worth 10k or more you are better off trading versus selling yourself.
