WTB: 2018 Raptor at MSRP - any help ?

I called a couple dealers today and the mark-ups I was quoted were stupid. One dealer tried to sell me a 2017 Raptor Demo with 2k miles on it for a +15k mark-up!

I live in the NYC area and I am willing to go anywhere in the Northeast to get one. I am not in a rush and figure I might as well wait for 2018 and order it exactly to my liking. Can anyone refer me to a dealer that is willing to work at MSRP?

Thanks for any help!

Same here but in Florida.. I figure I'll be sitting down in a week or two and just start calling a list of dealers in a 250 mile radius and then expand from there..

I have a local dealer that I've bought several cars from and know someone who worked there for 20+ years so I hope I'll catch a break there but you never know.

Personally I find cars.com the best search tool for these things. Change to your zip code. Also you can change distance to 500 miles. Lowest price Raptor SCREW. There are a few under MSRP. Hopefully this gets you some dealers who are a little more flexible.

i went to my local dealer today to cancel the warranty ect on the 14. when i asked what their mark up was, the finance manager said 20-30k. he the asked why? i told him i got one for 10+. he proceeded to look at their markup then go strait to the sales manager. i left before that convo started. perhaps if more of us point out they are losing sales due to crazy markup they will drop it some.

I will say this. Then these things first rolled out there will always be those that will pay 5k over or 10k over. But today anyone paying anything over MSRP is just dumb.

Over the last 2 weeks I have went in 3 separate dealers. All had at least 2 Raptors in stock not spoken for. I casually asked the sales person what they were going for. All three answered MSRP +5.

At dealer 1 I said well there is no way I am paying that. I like the truck but that won't happen with me so I won't waste your time. He asked what I was looking to do and I said invoice. He said he didn't think that would happen but he may be able to get it to me for sticker. I said thanks I'll stop back by in a couple of months and see then.

At dealer two they took me into the bullpen and the sales guy asked the manager if he could do invoice on a Raptor. He laughed and said no way to my face. I just stood there for a second and he asked if I wanted one and I said I did just not at that price. He said well what was I thinking. I said well I was thinking invoice. He smiled and said good luck. Most everyone is 5 to 10 over.
Well I said last week another dealer told me they would sell it to me for MSRP but thanks for you time. As I turned to leave he said well we do sell a few at MSRP. I said ok thanks just let me know when your selling them at invoice and I'm in and left.

The third dealer was a small one outside of town a bit I was passing by this morning and they had two Raptors out front so I swung in. Sales guy walked out and asked if I needed any help. I said well whats the deal on these? Now I was standing between one of those dealer modified lifted trucks and a Raptor. He pointed to the dealer modded one and said this one goes for what the dealer add on sticker next to the Ford one says. That one (pointed at he Raptor) goes for sticker. So that was the first guy that came right out with MSRP to me. I was busy and didn't have time to deal but in a couple weeks I'll be back out that way and I will hit them up about invoice.

Honestly at this point I think it will be hard to get one at invoice but I believe it's doable.

But also paying anything over MSRP from today forward is just wasting money.

Just reading this kind of made me upset especially coming from the sales industry. It just seemed like you were wasting their time doing what you did.

People are paying MSRP and Over, so why would they sell it to you at Invoice?

Go call every dealership in the US and no one will sell it to you at Invoice.

Unless you have purchased multiple cars/trucks from a certain Ford dealer or you know the owner, it's not going to happen.

Did you get your Platinum at Invoice?

pretty sure invoice isnt going to happen till 18s are also sitting on the lot.. As for MSRP it is perfectly fine to want one at that. Anything over is a rip off.

these dealers need to be put in check. Even at MSRP they are making over $7k.(more if you finance there)

Not sure how asking for a good price is wasting a dealers time.. Its more like the dealer is wasting a customers time asking $20k over......

Not saying asking for a deal is a waste of a dealers time. Its asking for an unreasonable deal.

If some one came in asking for a deal with us on a suspension set up, we will make a deal where we are still making some $$ and the customer is getting something he wants and a great price as well.

We are not going to give him our cost on a product.

We are still a business to try and make $$

That's where i'm coming at.

I think it's the way he wrote it made me upset..." Call me when you can give it to me at invoice ".
