2016 Raptor?

Autoblog is saying Ford might preview the Raptor in Detroit:
"The performance story continues, though, with R&T suggesting that the next-gen Ford F-150 Raptor will bow in Detroit. Details are scarce about what, exactly, the aluminum-bodied desert stormer will hold, but we expect good things."

I've heard that the 6.2 won't be around long. I'm also sure there will be a 16 Raptor. They sell way too well and carry a huge premium to not make them.
Also, they spent enough money on the "voodoo" 5.2 flat plane crank that is in the gt 350.
Do you think they are only putting that in a limited production mustang?
5.2 flat plane crank in the future Raptor makes sense to me! A lot more exclusivity, ford can claim better mpg and more environmentally friendly with the smaller displacement engine.
Plus it would just be cool!

My local dealer told me Ford was keeping the 5.4 for a while longer too, 4 months before they announced the new motor line ups. (My fault for not doing enough research)
I wouldn't count on a thing the dealer says. Every time I've been to the dealership I know 2x what the salesman knows about the truck. Never mind what's up coming.

I figured it out in 10 seconds and he was surprised.
Salesmen are not very good for trustworthy info.

I am a huge fan of the ecobeast, however Raptor HAS to run a v8. Maybe like stated above that new gt350 motor. Can't wait to see as I had an 13 raptor and traded, wasn't a fan of the 6.2.

X2 on this... Never trust them. They are just trying to make buck.

I 100% agree with this. When I was at the ford dealership just a few weeks ago buying a new to me '12 3.5L crew cab lariat I was talking with the finance manager and he said the raptor will be back for 2016. I said to him with this new EB engine that ford made you'd think they would twin turbo the new 5.0 coyote motor and make that an EB. He said that is likely the idea for what will come out in the new raptor when it returns. Otherwise who would want a normally aspirated engine as the only option for the top level of their trucks when the f-150's get to have the turbo motors... A twin turbo new 5.0 engine would be great!
