Hi Jason;
I've removed the smog as well. I've removed the pump, all the lines to the cilinderheads and I blinded the holes in the heads with a plug, and the pipe which goes direct to the exhausttube is blinded off as well. What not to remove? The solenoids which controls the smogsystem. The PCM must think that everything is under control, but I've plugged the solenoids off as wel. It saves you weight and space; the sparkies are easier to swap.

Yeah right; blind it off but leave it on the truck and let the vacuum hose and the connector on.... The PCM must think that everything still operates normally.
From the moment that I've blinded the EGR, idle runs better, fuelcons. improves and an EGR dirtens the engine. I had to swap the valves becuase the EGR leaves a lot of burned oil on the valves. Smog and EGR are there for the environment.... not for you.

They also make dummy soleniods, also available in stang magazines and websites that trick the computer into thinking they are there. Or you can get a Dialo programmer.
