Default Need some help

Hi i have a 2007 F150 with the 5.4 engine, i have 74000 miles on it and it started missing the engine light has not come it also started pecking sounds like a lifter picking does anyone know what mite be wrong i dont have alot of money to take it to some to fix hope i can do it myself everyone i have talked to said its a coil i have replaced 4 of them but its still missing.

Is it missing at idle? If so unhook each COP at a time. When you unhook one and the engine doesn't get worse you have found your dead cylinder. It could also be a plug or injector. Look at the sticky on sparkplugs at the top of the 04-08 section before you try taking any plugs out because they break.

thanks for the help no it idels fine its just when im going down the
road i have been changing the coils it seems to be getting better but still has a miss i have 3 more coils to go, could the injector be making the lifter nose

Injectors make a ticking noise when they open and close. Just listen to see if its coming from the injectors.
